Do they have special versions for all of the Mazinger girls. I know that there is one for Aphrodite, Minerva and Venus. How about Diana?

hey maz, to answer your question, i am located in syracuse, ny. although i was born in manila i moved to ny state when my mom started her medical private practice in our area and my dad began his engineering career. but most importantly, even though i grew up here i can still speak tagalog fluently! REPRESENT!! unlike the rest of my cousins ("what did she say? i cant understand.") ;D anyway, i get my diecast all over the internet. these are the e-stores that i use frequently, bigbadtoystore angolz animequest imageanime (although their charges for shipping and taxes are CRAP so not so much anymore) maybang toy-wave japanesetoylink tisinc99 and yesanimation.com this was a special store for me because i scored my gold and green max factory genesic gaogaigars from them for very good prices. (i got two of each of these also along with two of the original color. GRABE!!) and of course some on ebay but not so much as for the maz angels first there were the initial releases where the ladies sported their original colors then they released the angel versions then finally they released the limited angel versions so far there is: snow white aphrodai la sirene de noir minerva and the recently released queen of gold venus (i have two of each of these. talagang sumabog ang bolsa ko ) they have yet to release diana version hopefully this will be the last release because DAMN there are so many to keep up with. anyway i hope that helped pare. always a pleasure, Erik

Hi Tsurugi,
I was also born in the Philippines (Makati to be exact). We moved to San Francisco when I was 12. I then went to UCLA and then grad school in the Midwest. I ended up in Massachusetts to teach at a college.
Like you, I can still speak Tagalog. And I can sort of read and write in Tagalog as well (though native speakers call me Barok sometimes). In fact, even my grad thesis was Filipino-based. I am that much pro-Pinoy!
Thanks for answering my Mazgirls question. I have all the originals and the ones that came after. I am now debating whether to get the new ones. The special Aphrodite A is now selling for $175 in eBay (that is just crazy).
Osige na. Salamat.
Mazfan
P.S. What percentage of the folks who post messages on this site do you think are Pinoys? Are folks who run this site Pinoys?

Hoy! Ano ba? Hindi lahat nang manga miembro dito ay pinoy.. Although we have a large base! heheh. I share a similar story. I was born in the Philippines and moved to NY when I was 12. 7-8th grade, High school, college..etc. Now I'm married and live in NJ but I still work in the city. Check out the thread "where are you guys in the world?" To get a better idea of our member's locale. And also, both you guys, in the spirit of robot community one-ness, why don't you guys post a pic of yourselves in my thread "Place a face to your space"....you'll see my mug over there.... Okay...hangang sa susunod.... Hi Tsurugi, I was also born in the Philippines (Makati to be exact). We moved to San Francisco when I was 12. I then went to UCLA and then grad school in the Midwest. I acutally wish the eagle plate can replace the breast missles instead of being hung on top of them... It just looks odd to have two pointy cones attached to eagle's wings I guess, designers just had to do this to make the figure more "attractive", which I think is little too much... What would have been really cool is if they also made the airplane backpack (that comes in original figure) with larger eagle wings to match the front... That would have been a killer... But having said that, the toy is quite good.. I think she is as good as aphrodai snow white version if not better...

Are these new Maz Angels part of the comic book or are they just totally made up?

There is a comic book (or books) but it seems like the comic book was created for the toy rather than toys being made for the comic...

If I'm not mistaken, the first four Mazinger Angels figures (the "MA" ones) are based on the Mazinger Angels comic book. It's an official comic (not a dojin), but non-canon and Go Nagai doesn't have anything to do with it (other than raking in his part of the profits). The special editions (Sirene de Noir, Snow White and Queen of Gold) were not featured in this comic book. They're just special editions of the originals. But then, if the "originals" were special editions of the true originals, that would make the last three special editions of special editions... Hummm... yeah.
My vote: Venus A King of Gold. A special edition special edition special edition of Venus A: Venus A Queen of Gold with a Donald Trump toupet. That would kick little barrels-carrying horses! (Got to stay polite... for the kids.)
PS: If you may pardon this slight off-topic, what would be the best price one could get a Snow White Aphrodite A these days?

I got my first snow white at about 170 total-new (ouch...shipped from japan) then my second one at like 150 total-opened but like new and sold one of them at like 130 total-opened...
At when I thing the price ranges between 100 to 180. Not too long ago, three or four snow whites were listed on ebay at the same time. As you can guess, price was on lower hundreds. But when it show up by itself, I think it tend to go over 150... On the side note, my queen of gold came with a comic book and in it, Venus A (gx-12 MA) actually turns into Qeen of gold (gx-12 MAG) after getting hold of this special scepter (weapon included in gx-12 mag)... So I don't know about snow white or Sirene de Noir, but Queen of Gold shows up in the comic book...

But is it actually part of the main continuity of the Mazinger Angels manga, or simply a special issue made for the SOC? I might be wrong when I say they were not featured in the comic book. I haven't read them all myself (only up to #8 or 9). But that's the info I got. If someone can prove me wrong, please stand up. Oh! and thanks for the info on AA Snow White. (I mean the SOC... not a drunken Disney princess.) That's roughly what I thought. Most of those I found on the Internet were around $170-$180. Around a hundred, maybe a little more, I might go for it. But nearly $200 for it, that's a bit much for me. Aphrodai looks mighty fine in white, but not that much. For some reason, I don't like the black Minerva as much. I prefer the regular violet version. Now, if there was a white MA Miverva X, to look a bit more like Silene (from Devil Man), I'd jump on it.

No clue... the book is in all japanese... I think you're right. It does say "mazinger angel 3" on the cover in english... so it must be the third one... which makes me think that with each special addition of mazinger girls, there must have been a special comic book that came just for the figure...(?) Welll, that's my best guess. I didn't even know there was a comicbook for M girls until I got this book so I am not the authority here. Since I can't read japanese, If you want, I can sell it to you I really like my snow white, but I wouldn't pay 200 either... I paid bit too much for mine, but I don't regret it. I sold macross joke machine and bought Snow white with that money. I like her better than the joke machine, so it was a fair trade for me. I agree with you with minerva stuff. I skipped on the black one as well... It just didn't pull me enough I guess.

I think you're refering to the same comic book that Question was talking about. Looks like this would be the third special issue. Did Aphrodai A Snow White and Miverva X Sirene de Noir come with a comic book as well? As I said, I might be wrong, but it looks to me like this "issue 3" was made to go with the Queen of Gold figure, to give it a backstory, while the regular Mazinger Angels robots existed in manga form before Bandai decided to make figures of them.
In the third issue of the regular Mazinger Angels book, the girls are fighting Gamia Q (those blond cyber-triplets) and Garada in their standard Mazinger Angels robots. No Queen of Gold in this one.
