Those pics are gorgeous. Chances are, I or many of us will never own either of these, but they're certainly nice to look at. Thanks for the great review and comparison, and posting these photos, Gold.

I don't like chrome - I actually hate chrome but, I just realized that if the original GX-01R had sported the same chrome waist as the GX-01RB it would look super-sweet!!! The Scrander belt should've been chrome as well.

I completely hear you but at the same time it's sad that such a wonderful toy will never see the light of day.
I can imagine the pain and determination one possess when cutting open the tape of the box of such a gem as this.

Ive heard Bandai quotes amounts made and reality is different, maybe a different run?Maybe more were made later or the colors were changed during production?Strange, glad I noticed this is interesting! Are they numbered? Probably... Mine got numbers : on mazinger butt, there is these words on mold : BANDAI 2002 MADE IN CHINA On its back : a copyright with japanese kanji and these numbers : 11827 I have also serial number stamp in Box... Gold has certificate with his own, Mine did not, like the one mentioned in the article on www.emcorner.it/tag/gx-01rb article (they didn't mention the certificate). So maybe a first run comes with yellow details and a certificate... I will unpack the rest of the accessories to have a good look on it. We have here a new investigation on this collector's item ... Will digg infos around. Gold, maybe do you have some infos ? (I am not sure, I think Mazfan got a RB too).

Diggin' the topic : here comes a missing challenger ! ^__^ Congrats on scoring one Lejam!! Why are his horns and eyes gold?instead of teh yellow on teh other 2 black versions? Is this yet a 3rd black version? Mine's gold too. Also, IIRC, there were 2 production runs for the RB, 500 for the Mazinger DVD set lucky draw promo and another 500 for the Great Maz DVD set lucky draw. Gold

So once again screen/pictures colors calibration twist the judgment... Gold is the color ! (painless for collectors having another holy quest for a yellow/gold version) So my bad is this certificate missing... but it's okay for me. Now I have to find the GX-01 "Castle of cry" version... I can live with only one kidney... Seriously, I stored some GX-01B for custom, so I will turn it into the precious gem. Buy this RB kill my bank... this is my most expensive item now (shame vs pride).

Gold quote:" The yellow parts on his head like the eyes and horns are painted with a slightly different shade of yellow" Gold above in your review you stated the eyes and horns are a different shade of yellow, were you mistaken then, and they were actually gold?Did you go back and check?as they look very yellow. GOLDS' LOOK WAY different than LeJAMS in the photos below!!gotta be the 2 different runs. Golds' are yellow, and LeJam's are Gold below.I dont think its the Camera in this case its a too obvious of a difference in tone/color intensity also..If Im wrong Gold excuse me,but gee they look very different ..

Hmm.. I see your point Baron Weirwulf, I'll try to take a photo using natural sunlight instead of my usual lights, but it will be a while since I'm out of town right now.

Well, just got home, took a quick pic of the 01rb and while it is gold, Lejam's does seem more golden compared to mine. Strange. Different production runs I guess? Weather was a bit overcast when I took the pic this morning. Edit: Ok let's try this again, this time using my wife's Digicam. It's gold, it just depends on the lighting and camera used to take the image. Gold
