Gold - As usual, you have posted a great review. Nice job. If you keep this up, I will begin to expect a review every week or so.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you liked the review. Gold's reviews are like pure photographic toy pornography. Awesome. Nice review Gold as usual!!! I bet Jeeg would look awesome with the Mach Drill and Powered Up Gaiking with it's Miracle Drills together, let's get screwed lol! Thanks guys. ;D ;D Great review, Gold - detailed and informative as always. About the knuckle bomber attachment - So this also includes the forearm attachment that doubles as the firing mechanism - I previously thought that it's just the fist attachment a la GGG's heaven or hell fist. No wonder they can fire. When you replace hands, are there any danger in ripping off the pegs? I noticed that the pegs are in the fore arms, but when you show the close-up of the removed hand with plier, the peg is on the hand. So is the peg a separate piece from both the forearm and the hands? Concerning the transforming raikoba head, too bad the rear wheel can be seen hanging on the back of the neck. Otherwise it's a very nice gimmick, but i'd suppose it would not be economically possible to replicate at that size. Too bad the ankles aren't racheted, considering the big weapon attachments on the upper body. I guess it will really limit the figure's poseability. Can the feet be arranged to be flat in any stances? Thanks Niko, yes there's a alternate "forearms together" piece for firing the Knuckle Bomber (you can see in proped up upside down on the Jeeg's support clip on the display stand. ) Yes, that's correct, the joint that connects the forearm and fist is a stand-alone diecast dual pegged part (a la revoltech joint, sans the ratchet). The second part is the bicep and elbow joint, note that the bicep can be "unsheathed" to reveal the inner diecast rod. It's a bit difficult to change fists since there's very little to grab onto with just fingertips per end of each peg, so using pliers is a must (just remember to clamp down on the hinge joint itself and not on the tip of the peg, to prevent the hinge joint from becoming loose from repeated fists-swapping) Yes, the feet can be "planted" firmly on a surface regardless of how spread apart the legs are, thanks to the double jointed ankle I mentioned, the downside is, if this joint is loose (due to factory problem, like mine) , the toy might fall over (think typical old school Marvel Legends toys, before they added the ratchet joints). Gokinrob, hehe thanks, hopefully Greattoys can get Daimos as soon as it's released so I can have the review up sooner (really looking forward to doing that one. ) Gold

Cool! Thanks for all clarification. Good to hear that the feet can keep a flat footed stand in any stance (much more realistic that way), it's just too bad that Bandai didn't provide any ratchets for the ankles.
I usually don't change hands much after my figures are displayed, so hard to switch hands should not be a problem for me.

Gud day! Just happen to play with my soc jeeg, anyone notice that it can't do poses? Its legs are somewhat weak, especially on the knee part, it hard to make him stand. Does anyone have an idea how to make him stand or do poses? or maybe have a stand like that of revoltech thing or those gundam stand where jeeg can do poses? thanks

Most barley keep him standing long enough in a pose to take a picture.

I just saw this over at Toy-wave. Swing Action "classic" Koutetsu Jeeg. www.toy-wave.com/eng/detail.php?id=11518&table=88More info about it here: www.hlj.com/product/WES50004Stands approximately 20CM or 8 Inches, If it's roughly big enough to partner with the SOC Koutestu Shin Jeeg and it might be worth getting. Heck, it's definitely better proportioned than the vintage Takara toy. Take note that this is a soft vinyl figure (like the SOC Leopaldon's Spiderman figure) so there's no diecast or magnet parts here. Plus these tend to get bent out of shape when exposed to heat. Gold

Compare Jeeg to the Transformers movie "redesigns" and tell me Jeeg doesn't look like the original by comparison.
It's a sequel, so it's meant to be a "new model", not a crappy alternative universe version too.

I can't really say new Jeeg is an actual sequel to the original, I think of it as an alternate universe setting, after all, the original 1970's Jeeg ending didn't end the way it did in the Shin Jeeg Anime right (with the hero sacrificing himself to seal the queen)? So in that sense it seems to follow Shin Getter and Mazinkaiser as "alternate universe" and not a direct sequel to the 1970's version. BTW, nothing compares to the radical TF Movie redesigns... well, unless you count the upcoming GiJoe Movie redesigns of Cobra Commander ;D Gold
