That metal piece looks like it's nickle plated which means most forms of soldering or welding won't work. The piece might need to be acid dipped to remove the finish and hopefully the other piece can be removed from the figure because any kind of heat used will need to be extremely high and will melt the plastic and paint on the toy. If he can't find a way to weld/solder them you may look into buying stuff like liquid weld. www.jbweld.com/product/j-b-weld/Yea, I was able it disassemble and get the other half out. Tough piece to fix! It's in a tight area so adding bulk with most JB weld type stuff has to be sanded down. Not much space to add strength. Diecast metal pieces are basically considered "junk metal" structurally, made of the sintered metal pressed into a die. Not generally easy to weld anything diecast, as the piece itself melts faster than the weld or brazing process takes to fuse it. All that in addition to the coatings like Chen mentioned. I experimented on a couple old diecast cars like hot wheels, matchbox, and they don't like it, LOL. A jeweler/ jewelry designer might be a better try...they use tiny, focused brazing torches to work their little stuff.

It's a disappointment reading all these QC issues regarding the re-issued SOC God Mars. I'm planning to get this one for this year, having bought Godsigma and Daltanious for my collection but now I'm hesitating.
I used to have a bootleg DX God Mars as a teenager (named GOD TRON) in the early 90's and it would be a shame if I bought a toy that's worth $250 only to find defects on my end.

Well to be honest, the God Mars with this problem is part of an earlier reissue which apparently suffered this same issue; the latest one doesn't AFAIK.

In that case, I think the safest way for me to know if the latest re-issue has defects or not is to thoroughly inspect each robot and every joint for defects before payment. That is, if the seller will allow me to do that.

I was wondering too about how to tell apart the two releases of God Mars. I was also wondering how to tell apart the first release and reissue of SRC Shin Getter 1 ( tamashii.jp/item/10366).

My guess is that one of the strings of digits in the lower right corner of the back of the box can tell when it was manufactured, if only we knew the key to the code.

God Mars is not the most expensive SOC. I think the titles for most ridiculously expensive SOC goes to combattler gx50 and the Volt in Box gx31v. They both are so way overpriced.

^ Well, if you managed to get them at retail, GX50 and GX31V were relatively cheeap. I think they're only around 18,000 - 19,000 yen range price point IIRC. Even then, there were periods when these two would be put on sale. The price has only risen because there hasn't been any reissue in the recent periods.
The most expensive SOC at retail is still Gaogaigar at over 30,000 Yen, CMIIW.

My apologies for necroposting Just need confirmation if this is the proper way to disconnect Shin and Ra from Sphinx's legs, just yank them out...?
