If I remember correctly, in the series Black Ox was the first giant robot with artificial intelligence. Its creator was going to accomplish that by transfering his brain contents into Black Ox's, unfortunately the mob boss that was funding the project did not like the idea and killed the scientist during the "brain content transfer process." Hence Black Ox ended up with the intelligence of a 5 year old. It was up to Jimmy and Dr. Bright's family to raise and educate Black Ox.

Not true. Do a search in YouTube for The New Adventures of Gigantor. Please don't think I was trying to rain on anyone's parade. I have searched constantly for the series in general, and also in better quality, so that string of videos was added somewhat recently, I hope. I doubt I would have missed them. 7 episodes is definitely nice to start with but remember the series is 51 episodes. I actually obtained one of the mass produced bootlegs (made in the last few years) with every episode. I believe they are manufactured in Puerto Rico and the few vendors that I've seen them with ask a lot for them. It is suppose to be 9, 10, or 11 discs I believe. The vendor I got them from re-copied from his master and then disappeared on me. My full set is compressed to 7 discs or so and out of chronological order. The audio is just a bit off, but not enough to be disturbing. I am working at re-ordering and reburning the episodes but haven't started to look into the audio yet. The discs format looks very basic so should be easy. Sorry but the YouTube videos were available for quite a long while.

I hope more people notice and enjoy it. I really like the show, i could never get into the black and white gigantor but did watch it occasionally. I had started to miss the great times i had watching the show when it originally aired on sci fi channel back in the day, I pretty much watched every day it was on. I definitely always got the Arabic and Japanese episodes (the few that were available) and then the English opening sequence when searching youtube. I always ran searches for new adventures of gigantor and its Japanese translation hoping to catch a dub but never came up with the results and I started looking for the full series.

My GX-44 Tetsujin 28 arrived from Japan to USA within 6 days via Amazon Japan. Wow, I should have gotten this figure years ago! I paid $178 on Amazon, and totally regret not getting from BBTS for $114 when it was reissued 2 years ago.
This is my first "small" Soul of Chogokin since my collection is made up of God Mars, God Sigma, Daltanious etc. And at first, I was unimpressed with the initial 7" size before even purchasing this, but after seeing how well it is put together and constructed, I am very amazed with the quality. This totally makes me want to get the CM Brave Goshogun figure which I had been holding off on due to size as well.
I can't wait to do a photo shoot of my GX-44 Tetsujin 28. So very happy with this item. I was really missing out on this good stuff for years.

That right there is why the Godaikin Tetsujin 28 is the most popular of all Godaikins. It is just an amazingly beautiful piece. }D

This will probably be the closest incarnation of the Godaikin Tetsujin 28 that I can get/afford. Unless Bandai decides to redo this Tetsujin 28 as a DX. Now that would be friggin awesome!!

I like this figure much better than the dynamite action one (proportion/design wise, disregard height and materials). I have no SOC but seriously have been considering getting battle fever, the t28/black ox set, and daitarn.
The one thing that bothers me on this one though is the rounded/integrated neck and shoulder section. I think it should have been a helmet looking head on a joint, but with less curved sides where it meets the top of the shoulders/torso.
In your pictures above it looks really good, but in old pics and stock press images it looks horrible from some angles. I've never seen or held one in person so that is really hard for me to get over right now. Anyone know what i am talking about or feel the same way?

Same reason I got into SOCs. I wanted a Godaikin, but not paying $2000 for it. We have to push for a DX. I think it's probably the next in popularity. I just ordered my 44S a couple of weeks back from HK. I've been waiting for a deal and got it for $212 shipped. I could've saved $$ for the Black Ox. But I figured when am I going to find a SOC for $50 again? Love your pics. Beautiful staging. Now, I can't wait for mine.

I see what you mean by the head-to-shoulders relation, the design looks all in one piece... that's attributed back to the classic T28 (Gigantor) design from the Tezuka days of the old manga. It kept that design in the original TV show as well. For not having any SOCs, this beautiful specimen will make you forget all that other stuff about Tetsujin's head-neck design. And for your first SOC, brother, you're about to get SOC-addicted! zozo-mag I like this figure much better than the dynamite action one (proportion/design wise, disregard height and materials). I have no SOC but seriously have been considering getting battle fever, the t28/black ox set, and daitarn. Mr. Ginrai: I just downloaded "The New Adventures of Gigantor" - 51 episode series in English. (I believe this is the 1980s remake of "Gigantor." "Gigantor" was 1960s and had 84 episodes.) It's approx 9.3 Gig in size and very nicely viewable even by today's standards. I searched it a few days ago and it finished downloading in approx 60hrs. People are seeding it but it may take some time to get it 100% based on speed and availability. Good luck

Hi kingdom,
Thanks for the tip. I actually don't download or use torrents but will look into it. If you check one of my earlier posts I actually have the whole series you are talking about on DVD copy. I mentioned it in post # 299.
