Wait, why are they making two different scales for different toys?

Kawamori probably wanted Bandai's VF-25's to be in scale with the latest Macross toys AND models.
1/60's with Yamato's current lineups (toys), mostly diecast, $$$ 1/72's with Hasegawa's prevous VF entries (models), plastic, $
...as for the 1/55 VF-1's they're to appease old school fans or introduce new ones to vintage stuff.

Looks impressive.
Thanks for posting the pics, P78! If these Bandai VF's come out good, they're going to give Yamato a run for their money...and hopefully, more VF variants, for cheaper prices!

It looks like changes have been made to the GOKIN prototype. WHAT!?! Changes made to a prototype? That's unpossible. >_<

I am pretty optimistic about the upcoming Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25, even though I heard a lot of criticism on the shown prototype. Its realy too early yo tell. And feel like don't need to be that critical. Very likely I'll get one. Its just a great feeling to have a new generation DIECAST Valk again. But still love those chunky monkey. If Bandai includes a VF-1D in this reissue line up (all they need is a new head, and new paint (since the proportion is not anime accurate, I am sure people won't even mind if its not a true double seat nose cone). Or even a TV Max colored VF-1A. Those would sure get fans (old & new) excited and pay the fee.

I sure hope that Bandai does a good job of making it durable and not feel so fragile ("it might break if I transform it") like the Yamato valks. Looking forward to this one. Also hope that Bandai can keep the price of this one below $150. The prices of the Yamato valks are getting out of hand.

12,600 Yen!? Yipes. At least it is less than $150...but when you add in shipping costs, the price will be comparable to what I paid for the Yamato 1/48 VF-1A a few years back. At 23 cm, it stands about 9 inches tall. This means it'll be smaller than the 1/48 VF-1A/S or the 1/60 VF-0A/S or the 1/60 YF-19.

Very nice update! Hope the FAST pack is included with the regular release.
At 23 cm this will probably be about as tall as SOC Daimos.

At the moment, I don't think anyone knows yet.
It's supposed to be in the same general "line" as the Bandai Aquarion. What was it's die-cast content like? I believe you had one.
If I were to make a guess, I'd say most of the die-cast in the VF-25 will probably be in the leg region, as most of the upper body and such is a smattering of hinges and small swiveling pieces. Or it might be more like a yamato/MP seeker and have most of its die-cast in internal supports and hinges. We'll just have to wait and see, for now.

Really nice! the underside is so tidy.
So the main armaments are only the gunpod and the armor schneider? No missiles whatsoever?

The fastpacks act as micro missile banks for the 25. I don't think they carry under-slung missiles. I'm really hoping that the fast packs come standard with the 25. That'd be a knockout punch in my mind for these. Of course, I'd still only get Alto's in the hopes of a Full Armored Ozma 25.
