Precious Toys & Gifts on Taraval and 17th Ave--across from Safeway. Heroes Club on Clement. Been a few years since I lived in SF so things may have changed. I mostly buy online now.

I'm really sorry to hear about that. I liked the owner, too. He's a really nice guy. There's another hobby shop that opened up on Taraval--off of 24th or 25th Ave. I think. Not as good as Precious was though. Have you ever been to Kimono My House in Emeryville? I recall there's also a toy store on Broadway Ave. in Burlingame. I've been to Sun Entertainment downtown when I used to work out there several years ago.

Japantown. There's Mikado, which has a lot of current toys, and Japantown Games & Hobbies (IIRC), as well as Super 7 on Post St. -- all in Japantown, proper. These will be the best prices. You can also try Kimono My House Toys in Emeryville, just north of Oakland/Berkeley, in the East Bay (across the Bay Bridge from San Francisco).

I went to SUN Entertainment and Mikoto today. Mikoto has a great, current, selection, but everything is ridiculously overpriced. I'm going to try those other places too... I've heard of the one n Oakland, does it have a good gundam selection?

Kimono my house has one little section dedicated to gundams. Not alot of kits though. I went in there looking for a GD-53 Hayku-Shiki Die-Cast figure and they don't have it. The thing about Kimono my house is that they have limited display area so you might wanna ask them if you are looking for something in particular. It's a great place to find Vintage toys, stuff that are already overprice, but if you are looking for a bargin on newer stuff, I wouldn't recommend this place. Most everything there is over price. I've always wanted to visit Cards And Comics Central in San Francisco on 5424 Geary Blvd. Iv'e only purchase stuff from them at Wondercon conventions.

I used to visit Cards & Comics Central on a regular basis. Most of the Gundams were definitely overpriced, but they did have some relatively rare things from time to time like some Banpresto figures.

Kimono My House is definately worth checking out. I've gotten my fair share of good deals there. It's one of the secrets in the East Bay. I still remember the First time I tried to find that store, it was like a scavenger hunt. I went to Cards & Comics Central today. So far, it has the best selection of figures I've seen. Much better than I imagine. And I got the GD-53 Hayku-Shiki Gundam there. Paid 55 for it. After searching for that Gundam on Ebay and a couple web site, it seem to be cheaper getting this at the store directly. I've consider buying this from Betatoys.com, which had it at 50, but they wanted 12$ shipping. The store is much bigger than I've expected. Much bigger that than Collectors Universe over at the Pacific East Mall over in Richmond and most of the figures were cheaper. Cards and Comics Central is a good place if you are into Figures, Gashapons, and especially if you like Anime Female figures. There is a big selection of those there. Those aren't that terribly overpriced. Some were even cheaper than online store and Ebay. As for die cast stuff like Soul of Chogokin and Transformers, it's overprice there. I saw a Revoltech Optimus Prime there and they were selling it at 32, that 12 too much. A THS-02 Hybrid Convoy Opitmus Prime was selling at 85, that's 30 too much. There were some bargins though. A GX-32 Gold Lightan SOC was spotted there at 55 before tax. Haven't seen any online store and Ebay auction with a cheaper price. It was a lot less than this one store at the Pacific East Mall over at Richmond, not Collectors Universe, that wanted more than 120, the last time I saw it.

Pacific East Mall is in between Albany and El Cerrito. It's considered to be Richmond. Take the Central Ave Exit on interstate 80. And make a right turn onto Peirce St. Its two immediate right turn, right turn after the exit and then immediately right turn at the first interection.

There is a small gift shop toy store inside MITSUWA in San Jose (Saratoga AVe.) that has a great selection of Gundam model kits... among other stuff.

I haven't been to Mitsuwa in quite a while. What are the prices like in that shop? Is there still a Kinokuniya Bookstore there?

I haven't been to Mitsuwa in quite a while. What are the prices like in that shop? Is there still a Kinokuniya Bookstore there? Yes, Kinukuniya is still there... as far as the prices for Gundams, I'm not really into GUndam kits, but I recall them being just a tad bit overpriced... nothing crazy. I will try and swing by tomorrow to give you a better answer... ( i only live like 2 mins away from Mitsuwa)
