Why no love for this figure here in RJ? Probly 'cause it's considered as "toy crack" (old Toyboxdx term) only and not a big ticket item? π
I was blown away by the quality, more sturdy compared to Mini Action Voltes and Daimos, plastic they used looks and feels premium too. Combined mode got some bit of heft considering there are no metal parts aside from the screws. Paint apps are like 99% spot on, only problem I noticed was the cross logo on the noggin, understandable given the size of it. Maybe the painter couldn't find his microscope π One bit of advise, be very careful in handling Rugger 5, the wing flaps tend to pop out and are held in place by teeny tiny tabs. Might break if you unwittingly apply too much pressure.

I still think GX-03 and GX-31 is among Bandai's "bad SOC decisions"... They were able to do DX Popy scale Godmars, Daltanious, Golion, etc. but they insisted on giving us scaled down versions of the V brothers... But yeah, who am I to complain, I'm not Japanese so I'm not their target market And PLEASE don't give me the "but they did DX SOC versions..." excuse, we all know they're overpriced, 80% plastic (at least for Voltes) and unnecessarily gimicky...

Been some time since I posted over hear. I still like to read some of the old threads. www.taghobby.com/archives/756587Should be cool to see how this progresses for being able to buy. I hope this is the dawn of future reissues of Jumbo Machinders from Bandai! Seriously hoping they'll pick up where Unifive left off I think I read somewhere that the next release after Gaiking was supposed to be Grendizer, but Unifive pulled the plug.

Yeesh, looks like the rest of the world will get a different version of the game based on the official website The Japan version will have Hikaru and Minmay, I'm guessing console owners can just get the Japan region copy. Sucks for us Steam gamers though... Not gonna purchase if the game in my region gets neutered, stupid effing licensing crap... Japan VersionRest of the World

Love those reviewers who just dive in trying to combine/transform/pose figures without reading the instructions first. And then complain afterwards about broken parts, pure genius Kids, we're not in the 80's anymore where you just fold limbs and you're done, lols

Bandai makes GoLion/Voltron wear shorts and jacks up msrp by 6k-yen... Typical Bandai... they did the same with GX-59 and GX-59R. But at least they included alternate head for Bellarios which somehow justify the price increase. Wonder what extras we gonna get with GX-71SP...

Awwww, I miss the foldable wheels of the old Popy ST Starbood That was my favorite gimmick, and the sliding canopy.

I think this is a totally honest review Just wondering, how come other companies botched up SOC Voltron K.O. but managed to pull this one off..? Afraid of big bad Bandai maybe...?

Yeesh, sooner or later Bandai will bring the hammer down on these guys. What's another term for "legitimate bootlegging"..?

That's fairly sane pricing considering how much the Super Sentai ones are going for. I guess, through Bandai's point of view, hehe Action Toys sold their Mini Action Voltes V for less than HALF of Bandai's asking price, and it's already pre-built, not a model. Although one can argue that the 1.5 inch height difference and additional accessories justify the price... still depends on one's own perspective This also got me thinking, will it retain a certain value in the second hand market even if it's already built? I often see Mini Action Voltes go for double (sometimes triple) the original price these days. Definitely if it's un-built it might go up in price, but what's the fun in playing with plastic parts on sprues?

Price hint from P-Bandai Singapore, roughly US$100... Hehe, almost the same price as GX-31 Voltes V when it first came out... man, I feel old

Thanks for the video mpchi I appreciate the effort of Taktom giving us new box art, but I'm not feeling the new one They twisted/exaggerated the hips, I think the actual figure pose looks much better. Plus I like the head illustration of the original more than the new one. Not that it's bad, just feeling nostalgic

Hehe, we sometimes forget that the primary market of Bandai is still Japan, not westerners or wherever

At least Bandai finally did it, even if it's not a straight-up reissue. Congratulations to those who didn't give in to the speculators Like mecha-mania said "...in this hobby, never say never."
