Ok, so I resisted buying this one for so long. First off, I have never seen the TV series. But this weekend at Anime Expo I saw Daltanious in the case at the Bandai exhibit and I was just "OMG Wow That is Amazing" and picked it up. Saw some friends from work who now think I am insane for buying a $230 robot, but I confirmed their belief by telling them I have about 100 more at my house.

Stupid Harmony Gold and their macross/robotech copyright. Frontier is probably the best anime series in the past 15 years. But instead we get The Shadow Chronicles. PUKE. I'd like to see a master set come out.. VF-25 + fast packs, tornado packs, a fold booster, and full armor.

Not robot related at all, except that I learned this at Frank & Sons... but my girlfriend collects Disney pins and we found out most of them these days are fakes. People send one real one to china and have copies made and sell them on ebay and trade them like crazy at the parks. They are an easy target, and Disney is now cracking down. Wouldn't be surprised if the same thing were happening with DX robots. Sad, but keeps reminding me to just enjoy the toys and don't expect to do this for profit.

I was actually about to post this same question!! Good post. ; ) I am the same way and keep them for OCD reasons. I just can't fathom throwing anything away that came originally with these things. I doubt that the styrofoam would put them at risk of paint damage, but it just gives me peace of mind that they are protected with their original packing material. I can't even display my SOC's longer than a couple days. Earthquakes are common in Los Angeles (especially lately), so I'm always paranoid my SOC's will do a fatal swan dive off a shelf or table if I display them. So I usually keep mine boxed. Wow, i am in Burbank and we have had a few quakes lately but none of them have even caused a robot to tip over. My cats usually do more damage running around!

mrclean... i have never seen it. I can't even find English subs, only Italian. Since you are in LA if you find even a decent english subtitled all the locals should get together and watch it.

I can't wait until the in-hand photos start popping up about this figure. I always wanted the Godaikin version when I was a kid. This will be a childhood dream revisited! I had the ST version, but always wanted the DX version. ANd it was Toy Arena that said they would have it at Amiami's price and timeline. But like I said, Amiami has never disappointed me.

I have always found AmiAmi to be FAST and cost around 5% less than BBTS. Recently at Frank & Sons one of the vendors there keeps trying to get me to order from him, his prices are pretty close to AmiAmi and he claims I can get the items right after release at his local facility. I forget his website name though. But honestly, AmiAmi has always been great to me, I don't want to switch!

Most stores had transformers stuff, about 50% only had transformers. around 5-6 stores had some cool old die cast stuff. 4 or shops had all the recent SOC and Yamato stuff but were also stores that are in Frank & Sons every week. It was worth going but really only a 3 hour event for me, definitely not a whole weekend.
