Prices are all over the place on the metal new voltron and "84" version plastic voltrons. Target carries the metal combiners individually and in the gift set. The 84 plastic combiner they only carry the individual ones.
Prices vary based on location and quantity in each store.
My targets sold all the individual metal ones for about $7 each. The metal gift sets are still sitting at one my of stores for $50-60 on clearance. The 1984 versions are spotty, mostly only the black lion is left at $20-30 each and any individual lions you can find are still $12-15 each.
I'm in the northeast and I haven't seen the clearance prices anywhere near the ones that people have been claiming they have found at their stores.

My cali contact is getting back to me this weekend most likely. Repairtechjon was my other contact but his post beat my email, so I didn't reach out to him and you have his answer above haha.
We got the avatars from Lejam here. It was a very big undertaking on his part and he did it as a courtesy. He is very, very talented.

I saw that one on eBay as well. It's definitely a Taiwan Godbot listed incorrectly as a godsigma.
For the moment I'll chalk this up to a possible production run variant or factory change as I believe diecast metal in Taiwan was doing production for bandai as well.
I have two people I am reaching out to, one pretty much has every godsigma item you can imagine and the other is well versed in Taiwan variants. Hoping to get into my godsigmas by the weekend as I'll have some time off to do so.

No it's definitely not the lighting, the one in the CDX review is chrome.

So mine are definitely original Popy made in japan red box DX set and I will check them.
I do notice that it looks like all, or almost all of the Taiwan KOs came with the chrome arms as well.

The way I remember it is the shoulders look like a painted silver, it has a metallic sheen overall but no metallic flake (so it appears solid in color).
I do have two boxed Popy DX versions I could get to to check out, do you have pics of the chrome looking one?

I get a lot of them, they come in your email, not your eBay messages. They always show up when I can never find anything to buy or when things that are listed by sellers and eligible are overpriced. A lot of them are item or category specific or specific sellers of new, non-toy products that I don't buy.
I did get a coupon with no restrictions like 10 or 15% off or something, but now I'm looking for something to buy since I already bought something prior to getting the coupon.

Ebay's timing is impeccable. "Hey, we knew you wanted to buy something, so we waited until 2 days after you bought it to send you a coupon to use."

Anyone have a valid eBay code that's good? I want to buy a toy with a slight discount. I had a coupon email from them and deleted it because I couldn't find anything to buy and now the message will not display in my trash folder.
Edit: No rush guys, had to pull the trigger to avoid losing a tough item and most likely would have amounted to $5-10 anyways.

Which joints? Do you mean the part where the rear cab/arms slide away from the cab front so they can be turned from cab to arms, or do you mean the actual ratchet joints of the shoulder ones the rear cab panels/arms are folded out?
If you mean the actual ratchet joints, don't force them, they will snap or shatter. Clarify for me and then I will explain more.

Young daibaron is the more common name if you are talking about the silver and red one. What are you missing from the main body to make the robot?

Already preordered the giant gorg/manon type pack. I got mine from HLJ earlier this afternoon and their pre-order sold out right after that.

Or your father? Either way that's a hell of a complex he has and honestly forget the messing up a valuable toy issue - you need to talk to your kid about what the guy is doing because it could mess up your kid's expectations of life just randomly getting super pricey things like that from other people - especially when you are trying to just treat your kid nice under normal circumstances.

Vinyl is always ridiculously expensive. I feel like it's a mix of production cost, licensing cost, and niche market for already narrow production runs.

There are actually a few differences that I am aware of in different sizes.
1. On some DX Chogokin, the Popy Box releases have slightly different tampos/stickers than their Godaikin box version releases. Voltes V DX is one of these, I believe. A few members and I were talking about it a few years ago and I can't remember at the moment.
2. Popy Nessar (Plesiosaur ship from Gaiking) there is an early light blue version (head and feet) and the later dark blue plastic version, which is the same as the Shogun Warriors version.
3. Popy Daiku Maryu ST size Dragon came with white horns or yellow and then the shogun version only came with yellow.
4. There are several variations of Popy GA-37 Grendizer depending on which Popy release you at talking about, as well as European releases under the shogun warriors brand but these are all really well documented from toy variants to box variants etc and if you want to get technical there are even Korean ones.
5. Popy Gordian DX had two releases, one with red Clint first, then yellow Clint, then the Godaikin Gardian release came with the yellow Clint from V2.
6. Voltes V DX - Popy box versions always came with black missiles trays as far as I am aware, but Godaikin box versions came with black ones and also white ones later on (I have one of each godaikin version MIB).
8. Popy and Godaikin Golion toys came with all chrome elbow joints/all chrome tails, half chrome elbow joints/grey tails, or all grey elbow joints and tails, as well as sharp teeth or round capped safety teeth depending on which mold/item quantity was available from the production line at a given time as production bounced back and forth from Japan to Taiwan and back (sometimes these were running changes in general, things also changed when production increased for matchbox when they licensed voltron but also was affected by the Taiwan made matchbox voltron that was recalled etc. I am purposely leaving out the Taiwan lionbot variants and there are also some very very early Popy box golion sticker variants that I don't want to get into here.
9. Godaikin Laserion only got released as Laserion DX. The original Popy came in DX version and also giftset version with the power armor.
10. 3" Mini Shogun Warriors are made in Japan, 3" Mini-Godaikins are generally made in Taiwan and have added chrome foil stickers.
11. Popy Varitank and Vertilift both came with more accessories than the Shogun Warriors version.
12. Popy reideen first release had white painted upper legs, all later Popy and Shogun releases had unpainted metal.
13. Popy Gaiking had 4 variants (body parts or color etc.) , Shogun Warriors release only had 4th version Popy.
14. Dangard Ace came with black chest or chrome chest.
14. Popy Poseidon came with movable missile launchers and legs and later fixed ones in the shogun line.
15. I won't break them down further but a lot of the shogun two in one figures have missile variants or figure variants like how much they move, paint variants etc. It depends on Popy or shogun 1st or second release etc.
Non-Popy: Clover Tryder G7 Bird Attack (mid-size/ST) came with translucent orange wings, or translucent orange wings with a metallic flake in them.
There are a lot more but that's what I have at the moment. If you need this to be absolutely Popy specific I can clean it up later with an edit.

I honestly like it but I am currently turned off by a few things:
1. Price/Price point for overall size 2. Characters that they have made so far - I don't mind big powered, but I'm not a fan of the new diabattles or the original. I'd like to see Fortress X, Warudaros and Battle Buffalo for example. 3. Overall styling - I like the new aesthetic, but I feel like they've been too modernized - not as extreme as Michael Bay Movie Transformers, but I wish they had been a little bit closer to the "futuristic"/classic look of the originals, kind of like how SOC still feel slightly vintage/true to the original designs.

Dave is 100% reliable and accurate with his descriptions, and he and the collection owner are great people. Buy with confidence.
I have known Dave for a few years now as well and we have bought and sold from each other's collections with no issues.

So far I am mixed on these. I feel like these will easily cost 10,000-12,000 Yen MSRP or more before preorder discounts, basically in the price range of Hi-Metal Technopolice/Dougram for example. I can't see them being less than that, and I feel like we haven't had much of anything for super robot toys/figures in the $30-50/60 range in a long time - they really need something at that price point.
As far as displacing other toys like SRC, I would say this is just like what they did to Robot Spirits with Metal Robot Damashii/Gundams - a little metal for a lot more money.
It's not exactly the same thing as what Hasbro did to 3 3/4" Star Wars with Black Series, but the idea to capture new buyers/have existing buyers buy another version of a character is there.
I will have to wait to see the finished images. Right now I could consider daitarn, and maybe voltes and zambot. I am not feeling the look of daimos or combattra as far as the initial pics show.
Cost will be a huge factor for me as the only SRC I own is Godsigma (loved the look/sculpt) and I have also potentially committed myself to the Hi-metal Dougram line as long as it doesn't get out of hand. I also want to see how crazy they will potentially get with this full action line as far as potential future releases, both as far as which characters and total # of figures.
