Thw t28 in that condituon regardless of what you paid for it was well worth 3k. If I had seen it early enough I would have bought it and the starting bids on your others are great too. No bad feelings over here just wish i had seen that t28 first

I had contacted Dave on an unrelated purchase and he got back to me last night. He is gonna try and help me track down a popy golion through some of his sources. Anyway, just to show the kind of guy he is I did not even mention the vehicle voltron but at the end of his message he brought it up and said that the Voltron is tooling along and we should have more pics soon.

I have gotten my daughters into collectin these and they will be with me for the summer. Our mission is to find a Mint in box Popy Golion and a mint in box V Belt Lionbot. If anyone has these or knows of vendors overseas that might be able to find them please let me know. I am looking for these daily and hope to find at least the Popy before they go back to their moms at the end of August

I think your last statement is pretty close to correct for the most part this is a matchbox version except it comes with all the missles and launchers and launch mechanisms in the lions that were removed from the matchbox. He did mention the chrome which I thought was paint due to it being dull and flat. He said it is chrome but they were using a dull chrome. After inspecting this over and over I have come to appreciate the look of the dull chrome it gives it a softer look and feel. The Bandai stickers were definately the thing that kept me wondering and looking into it.

Ok after a bunch of phone calls and emails I was put in touch with a guy at Bandai who made some inquiries overseas for me. This is a legitimate piece that was one of the very last boxed Godaikins. The Bandai stickers were put on the lions to insure they were boxed correctly and he said there are not that many of these out there. He was unable to pinpoint which market it was geard toward, there were a few that required the dulled teeth. He believed toward the end the Godaikin runs all the lions were coming off the line with dull teeth as they were doing large runs for the Matchbox line ans the same lions were were also used for the Godaikin line. He said a 1984 Godaikin Golion is extremely rare. So I guess I lucked out. I wish the seller had been up front and honest about it having dull teeth and all the other differences with this version that very few have seen and this all could have been avoided. It did make for a bit of an adventure and Golion history lesson and I have learned alot. Thanks for everyones advice and help. Ive now purchased three of these and am on the hunt for a mint Popy and a V Belt Bootleg. Anyone got these for sale let me know

AS much as I am looking forward to getting this I don't fault anyone for delays when first production runs are made. Being in a parts manufacturing business I know things often take longer than expected. I have total Faith in Toy Freakz and I know firsthand what a great guy Dave is. I don't know how anyone could send a disgruntled email when we haven't even hit the release date and if it's late so what it is to be expected and will give me more time to place more preorders anyway. I guess I'm a little peaved at whoever sent any nasty email to Dave as I know what a nice solid guy he is plus like Baron said no official delays as of yet and even if there are I'm not gonna worry cause when it comes out I'll get my orders and be glad to even get them without having to try to source them from overseas. Can I call the whiners names??? or at least the guys that sent the nasty emails. I know these are toys but lets not act like a bunch of .....

I just spoke to Dave. He has been getting bombarded with questions about this so he is busy. The great news is yes, everyone that preordered is getting their Voltron and if you didn't get a preorder in these will be available through the asian market later when they are released. Dave says he cannot advertise these but that there is nothing illegal about selling them as they are licensed in Hong Kong Singapore and at least one other place. If you have interest in one of these send Dave an email and I'm sure he can guide you in the right direction.....

I have been wondering the same thing but the quality in person is pretty shotty and if you look at the sticker on the yellow lion the foil underneath it is missing as well as the same thing on the red lion. And the red lions halves dont fit flush one side sits higher than the other. After further inspection you can see.that the red paint on the shoulders is sprayed over another set of paint. You can clearly see it through the top layer as well as spatter throughout the rest of the red and black on the chest. Trust me Id love to hear that this is a very rare legit piece. Ive even contacted bandai and they have no one that can verify it.

I am in the states but this came from china and had been bought from Japan prior to my purchase. Paypal is asking me for some information. I need a third party to fax them a letter saying this is not legit and why it is not legit. There needs to be a letterhead and it needs to be a business or an organization. Is anyone willing to do that. I spoke to bandai today and they can't authenticate it. If anyone can help me so Paypal will refund my money please let me know. I only have a couple days to get this done in and there are no extensions. They have made it almost impossible to get my money back.

Yes of the 4 other godaikin I had the teeth were all sharp. Some had partial chrome joints others did not have chrome joints. I have been looking around and have been told that some of these did come with dull teeth in the very last runs of these and if that is the case then this is quite a rare edition. As of now though no one can confirm this is legit whcih sucks because it lands in the grey area because it could be legit but there is no way to tell and there is no way to know for sure that its fake either. All in all had I known it had the dull teeth I wouldnt have bought it. At least it has made for some excitement trying to figure out what I got.
I found this on another site. Looks like these were sold here in 1984. It says in their original styrofoam so they aren't talking about matchbox but becasue of cost they didn't last. This goes with what I have heard that this may be of the godaikin line for the us market:
Godaikin
Godaikin – An Innovative series of Super Robots
The Godaikin brand was developed by Bandai America in 1984. Bandai had gotten word that shops were selling imported Japanese Chogokin toys in America, and they thought there would be a market in the US for these giant robot toys. The toys were metal and plastic, some transformed, and some shot missiles. Each was unique, and like nothing else seen at the time.
Aside from the packaging, the Godaikin versions of the toys are identical to the Japanese releases. The toys actually came in their original Styrofoam trays, and were re-packaged in the states.
Due to the high price tags and fragility of the toys, the line did not last long. Some of the toys retailed for as much as $80.00, and that is in 1984 dollars. The market was also crowded with many other transforming toy lines, such as Transformers and Go-Bots.
Godaikin toys were a gateway to the larger world of Japanese Toy collecting. Many people who had these as children seek them out in their adulthood, discovering a whole new world in the process
