So when is it supposed to start shipping and/or when will BBTS get it?

Oh man. Can’t wait for this 🤤. My most anticipated toy of the year (well this and MP-44 Optimus Prime) I wonder if the Voltron graphic is a slip cover like Lion Voltron. Hoping for a slip cover for consistency. I can’t pay $500 for a Masterpice Prime. They’ve priced me out of buying their series. I’m old enough to remember MP-01 that was actually diecast being sold for $80. So MP-44 is smaller, all plastic, and nearly six times more pricey!

I don’t think anyone is really cancelling. 🤔
I’m stupid, and ordered a 2nd one last week. 🤷♂️

I know about that on the 1st MK3. I think the paint just needed to be removed since the plastic itself is red. As for the SOC rubber, I'm assuming rubber treads like on the Voltes V than end up being brittle. Pink panties happens on several of the early Iron Man figures where the rubber “skirt” that covers the hip joints fade over time. I think the only SoC figures I have issues with are the early Getter Robo figures so far.

I’m definitely biased though, I own well over 100 Hot Toys figures. I own (or owned) nearly every Marvel/DC figure HT ever made. Here are some of them- Jeebus... has any of your older HTs rubber disintegrated? My oldest HTs are from the Nolan Batman era. I haven't checked on them for a few years of being stored so I'm a bit wary. Nope, no issues with the rubber. I go back to the Appleseed figures with rubber suits that pre-date the Batman figures, and no issues with any of the rubber. I think it’s more of an issue if you live in a humid climate, with no AC. Actually, the only figures I have with damaged rubber are my older SoC figures. A few of the early Iron Man figures have “pink panties” though.

Just chiming in. Disclaimer: Following are just IMHO... Hot Toy's head sculpt IS good enough BUT nowhere as accurate as it SHOULD be. Hot Toys head sculpt is falling bit behind oncoming competitors tho... that Gandolf at BBTS is exceptional. Three Zero headsculps are also considerably better then HT. Last but def not least, check out Blitzway products. ...amazing. They all have AMAZING likeness to the actors their product they portray. Hot Toys has some catching up to do. If you are talking about the LotR figures (Asmus) I’ve been following on www.mwctoys.com/ I have been less than impressed by their sculpts. I kept my full collection of old Sideshow 12” Lord of the Rings figures because none of the newer lines have impressed me. I’d say the same of the Game of Thrones (ThreeZero) figures I see there, they look much worse than HT to my eyes. I took a quick look at Daenerys, and she looks abysmal to me. www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-011518a.htm I don’t watch Walking Dead, so I can’t really comment on those figures that ThreeZero does. I also see the Ghostbuster figures by Blitzway on MWC reviews, and they might be the closest to HT sculpt-wise to me. Granted, I’m not passionate about the Ghostbuster license. It should also be noted that these are just as pricey as Hot Toys, $275 for a basic Ghostbuster back in 2017. I follow all of the brands that I see on MWC review page, but I don’t always agree with his reviews. In general I see these as brands that are upcoming to my eye, but they are clearly not up to HT quality. If they were better than HT, and had a cool license I’d buy them. So I pretty passionately disagree with you based on what I’ve seen so far from those brands, but if you are a fan of their brands and licenses, I’m sure they are great. I also might be biased based on my collection. 🤷♂️

The prices are no different than something like SoC. Prices are going up everywhere. And I’m not sure exactly you are saying about the head sculpts...are you saying they aren’t good enough? I guess there are some better ones out there, but in general I think they are some of the best in the industry. I like the Joker hs. RDJ and Chris Evan's could be better and yeah, I saw some done better by individuals. Although, the price these individuals sell it is astronomical. Chadwick's (BP) hs doesn't even look like him. Price-wise, previous IM costs a little bit more than retail SOC which is somewhat fine for me. Although, Infinity War IM plus the accessory pack is too much IMO. I've read some feedback on the accessory pack and it felt subpar. I'll receive them in a week or 2. I'll see if it was even worth close to $250. I haven’t received my accessory pack yet, so I can’t comment on that. That figure alone (with accessory pack) is ridiculously priced, I’ll agree 100% on that....but I still bought it. 🤷♂️ And yes there are some better custom sculpt and whatnot, but I still consider Hot Toys as the leader in their market. There are other brands getting close, but they aren’t there yet. Companies like Medicom (do they still exist?) dropped out of the 12” market trying to compete with Hot Toys. And even Sideshow (the only official Hot Toys North American distributor) own 12” figures suck compared to Hot Toys. I at one point had a massive Medicom and Sideshow (Star Wars) collection, but after I got my hands on Hot Toys I sold 99% of those figures off.

As a Hot Toys collector, I just don’t see how it will slow down. They still can make Diecast versions of every Iron Man figure they haven’t done already, and Marvel (and DC) are still making movies. The only way the line dies, is if prices increase to a point where the majority of the collectors get priced out of collecting. Aren't the prices getting out of hand though? IM is crossing close to the 400 dollar mark. I'm glad that I'm checking out after Endgame and Far From Home. Also what I don't get is they never get to recreate the full likeness of the actor's head sculpts and then I see other people's work that turn out way better. The prices are no different than something like SoC. Prices are going up everywhere. And I’m not sure exactly you are saying about the head sculpts...are you saying they aren’t good enough? They need to diversify as I think their bread and butter were the Marvel Hot Toys. Now that the 1st 10 years have ended and the original Avengers are gone, sales might slow down. As a Hot Toys collector, I just don’t see how it will slow down. They still can make Diecast versions of every Iron Man figure they haven’t done already, and Marvel (and DC) are still making movies. If Bandai pushed production numbers that high on every release, they would eventually get stuck with stock and it could (would) lead to the end the line. It’s always better for them to produce slightly less than anticipated demand. If for some reason they produce far too few, they can always do a 2nd run. It’s about maximizing profit and limiting risk. Scalpers are annoying, but it’s part of the game in a healthy collector market. To be honest, the best approach for all parties involved – manufacturer and consumer – with a high-end line like Soul of Chogokin, would be for Bandai to offer an open pre-order period of a generous length (we’ll say one month), and then respond by producing as many figures as were pre-ordered during that window. Demand would be met, stock would not go unsold (save for a few cancellations), and scalpers would be completely undermined. After a year, if demand justified another open preorder window, Bandai could react accordingly. Game over. The only lines that I know that use that type of business model are for very low production and unique items. I’m sure Bandai has to plan this out WAY in advance.

I would love nothing more than for Bandai to mass-produce Dairugger to the extent that scalpers couldn’t flip for even one dollar of profit. If Bandai pushed production numbers that high on every release, they would eventually get stuck with stock and it could (would) lead to the end the line. Lol, that's what I want to know too. Did all my bros get one? I hope this screws SOME scalpers...then I'd be in a happy place...to know that they're suffering. Scalpers aren’t going to lose on this unless Bandai puts up another large batch of units for pre-order prior to release. Clearly demand is much higher than the current pre-order supply.

I was thinking about getting a 2nd from BBTS, but not that the pre-orders are sold out on BBTS, my wallet can have a brief sigh of relief. I think this is going to be a $1,800+ month for my Hot Toys figures alone. 😳
It really sucks when everything ships at once (looks like 6 figures), and I’m paying cash for them to get a good discount. So far it’s Hulkbuster 2.0, Iron Man MK50, Thanos, and Deathstroke. And my seller told me Aquaman and one other were coming soon.
It’s cool to get a ton of cool stuff, but it would be cooler if it was just one or two a month. 🤔

Ok, I’ve searched Amazon and have never seen it up. 🤷♂️ It's shocking how quickly this sold out on Amazon. It's important to be vigilant for such a release. When dairugger listed, I woke to a link from a Bro via messenger. RJ is a good thing.... I was actively searching Amazon, unfortunately using common sense Boolean search terms didn’t work. Which is odd since I worked for the company that helped develop Amazon’s search functions. If searching “Soul of Chogokin Voltron” or Soul of Chogokin Dairugger” don’t work, then there is an issue on their end.

Looks very nice. But if they are partnering with BLITZWAY then prepare to sell your kidney. It’s going to be really expensive. It looks like it should be very expensive. 🤔
