My guess is that one of the strings of digits in the lower right corner of the back of the box can tell when it was manufactured, if only we knew the key to the code.

I was wondering too about how to tell apart the two releases of God Mars. I was also wondering how to tell apart the first release and reissue of SRC Shin Getter 1 ( tamashii.jp/item/10366).

GGG, Thank you for taking the time to write up an interesting detailed comparison. The Metal Composite Psycho Gundam 02 was released in 2013 ( tamashii.jp/item/10450). It is basically a re-paint re-release of the one first released in 2008 ( tamashii.jp/item/908). Between then and the 2015 release of SRC God Sigma, Bandai has a lot of experience to draw upon. I am glad when Bandai and other companies can take a learn-as-they-go approach to improve design, materials, engineering and manufacturing. As a customer, sometimes I take a while to understand the engineering of figures. Sometimes after having a figure for a while I appreciate better how the joints coordinate together. I am interested to see the SRC God Sigma in person. SRC is currently my favorite line of figures, overall.

greengetterguy, What are the things that you like about SRC God Sigma more than the Metal Composite Psycho Gundam Mk-II ( tamashii.jp/item/10450)? For a while, I considered buying the Psycho Gundam Mk-II. I decided not to, though, and instead bought SOC God Mars ( tamashii.jp/item/836). i like him a lot more then Metal Composite Psycho 2 Gundam i recently opened...

Thank you for such a thorough demonstration and review of such an ambitious figure! Here's my review of the Dynamic Change Shin Getter Robo figure. Boy, this was one exhausting review to make! But man was it worth it. (^o^)

Will you try hobbyshop2go or an Ebay seller? Oh, I missed this from NY, so sad.

Thank you for your help and information, bluetengu and greengetterguy. I was able to order from Nippon-yasan. Their customer service has been good to work with in my experience.

Who did you buy from, bluetengu? I haven't made an order yet. Nippon-yasan and Angolz seem to have had limited stock. Finally got the shipping confirmation for mine! Woot Woot!! ^__^

Anybody know how hard it would be to switch heads on the two Grendizer's? LOL... sounds like you want someone else to test the theory on their figure! Just get a hair-dryer and warm up the head and it will pull off. It is on a ball joint anyway. }D Chen, I like the idea of switching the heads on the two Grendizers too. I didn't try either! Here are some photo references I found ( www.emcorner.it/s-r-c-grendizer) of the ball joints connecting the chest, neck and head for anyone that gives it a try:

Thank you for the work you put into such informative reviews. Your descriptions of the figure mechanics are easy to understand. The opening poses with musical score are especially dramatic and the figure size comparisons are very clearly presented. I'm slowly getting back into gokin reviews. Here is my review of SRC Getter-1. Black Getter Review coming on Wednesday.

Thank you for including the printer software screenshot. It has an illustration/anime CGI style to it. Funny that there is a shadow! That must help with visualizing the 3D shape. The printer technology lets you apply your knowledge of super robot figures and models that you have built up over time. What a cool rendition of the character so far.

You are developing great 3D printer skills with this ambitious figure. Seeing your knowledge of super robot figure design applied to 3D printing this character is great. How does a sphere segment of the neck rotate and stay connected within a cylindrical segment? Is it similar to Revoltech joint design? The three heads of the beast! The time has come to give this project its own thread...

This neck design has a good balance of fluid and mechanical in its look. Is each segment of the neck the same shape or do two shapes alternate back and forth in the sequence? I enjoy seeing the design evolution. These are the ones I wanted!

The proportions of the necks suit the heads for giving a more substantial look. The speed and quality of upgrades that the printer and software let you make to both the design and the prototype of a scratch build is amazing to see. First attempt at the neck modification. Not too bad, but not what I really want...

Looks fearsome! The detail of sculpt possible looks very good. The engineering design also looks well done for posing plus stable balance. With the second forearm and its tail...
