I already see a pending charge from N-Y on my credit card. FWIW, the exchange rate I received is very close to the published rate (within 1 yen difference per $) are you talking about N-Y's US pricing rate? or the actual exchange rate. usa.visa.com/support/consumer/travel-support/exchange-rate-calculator.html/if you are getting charge close to the NY us pricing then your credit card is not a world card and is charging you some percentage for currency conversion The charge should be similar to this(below) if your credit card does not charge foreign currency conversion fee No not N-Y's US rate. My charge was within $3 of the price when I converted the Yen to USD off Google. I believe the rate per $ last night when I checked was approximately 117.60 something. The rate I received from my card was approximately 117.05. So in total it was about $12 less than the lowest reputable domestic seller's price that I could find. But now the waiting game begins. I've never ordered from Japan before so not sure how fast (slow) it is. They're still processing my payment, and now I see that N-Y will close from 12/31 to 1/6. I really hope they can ship it out before they shut down.

what's the difference of the two box designs? with the golion text and with the voltron text?! which is for US and which is for the asian market? ty From Amazon: "Packaging for Western markets comes with a special sleeve that features a larger voltron logo, while the package underneath features the golion logo more recognizable in asian markets" As for me, I care more for the figure than any packaging. So I ordered from N-Y for less than any reputable domestic seller and will get it sooner. The only con is that I won't get the additional sleeve, which is fine.

I was all excited when I got an email notification from nipponyasan.com that it was in stock. You guys were right. Although the price is good, shipping kills it. Getting it through woozymoo is still cheaper. I'm hoping they get their inventory sooner rather than later! Can't wait for some reviews to show up. Woozymoo is not cheaper . The price with ems shipping from nippon-yasan is 31100 yen which is around $265 with the current exchange rate. So I got another email notification from N-Y that they have this item in stock! I couldn't help myself so I canceled my Woozymoo preorder and ordered it through N-Y. I went with EMS (3-4 days) for 6600, as it offered the best balance of speed and cost. I'm pretty excited as the total with the exchange, as mentioned above, should be about $266. Plus I don't have to wait nearly as long. Yea I don't get the extra sleeve for American markets, but I'm fine with that. FYI N-Y had a bunch of different shipping options but only EMS really made sense. There was a freight option for almost half the price of EMS but estimated shipping was in the months timeframe. There was also UPS 1-2 day for about the same cost as the figure itself.

I was using the USD price Nippon was giving me, figuring it was close enough to the actual price I'd be charged. At the time the cheapest price I got was $288 for one of the cheaper shipping options. In any case it's already sold out again at nippon.

It's priced at $9.99 so I'm sure expectations are commensurate with its price. Oh definitely. I know it can't compare to SOC or TF Masterpiece at that price point. But it's not even comparable to TF Generations. The quality of the plastic looked real bad (swirl marks and other defects) and the paint looked like it bled in certain parts.

Stopped by a Toys R Us earlier today and stumbled onto the new Voltron toys from Playmates. It looked pretty terrible. Can't wait for the SOC version!

I've never heard of CDJ. Are they usually more expensive than their Japanese competitors? A few of the other online stores (all sold out) had listings for lower. The CDJ price + shipping is almost the same price as ordering from the US (for US customers).

So we're a little more than 3 weeks until this figure is officially released. Is it usually this quiet prior to release? I would have expected someone out there would've gotten an advance copy for review. I only saw one on youtube from weeks ago.

Thanks everyone for the informative responses! I didn't even realize anyone had responded. I'm used to the TF forums, where you're automatically subscribed when you respond to a thread. I'll have to fiddle around with the settings here. So I bit the bullet and preordered the figure. I'm a little familiar with supply/demand/pricing when it comes to TFs. I know popular Japanese figures sell out quickly and are hard to come by, and this is a very popular product. However, expensive items also don't typically sell out right away, and may get discounted later on. But based on most of the responses here, $280 is a good price, so I just went ahead and ordered it. I only plan on having 1 Voltron figure, and don't want to risk not being able to get it later on because I tried to save a few bucks. Your price is good. Shipping from Japan will be on the order of $50 so it will be around $300 shipped from Japanese retailers if you can find one. Where did you find that price? www.woozymoo.com/products/voltron-defender-of-the-universe-gx-71-voltron-soul-of-chogokinI've actually never ordered from them before. But I've emailed them a few times and they're super responsive. I believe they're also a site sponsor for one of the TF forums, and a few people there have vouched for them. TBH the first time I heard of them, I thought it was a scam site lol. They have the best price of the reputable US toy stores I'm used to ordering from. And yes, free shipping and no tax.

Hey everyone, new member here. I'm mainly a TF collector, but am also a fan of Voltron. Got some newbie questions related to the figure I was hoping someone could help answer.
1) My understanding is that this is the official and "definitive" version of Voltron. But I noticed Toynami also makes Voltron figures, which I believe are official. So 2 separate companies make different official masterpiece quality figures? I'm just confused by this because it doesn't seem geographic, like Hasbro/Takara. 2) I missed out on the Japanese preorders, and am not familiar with ordering from Japan anyway. I see that the figure is still available from a domestic retailer for $279.99. Is this considered a good price? I think someone on this board previously mentioned that the Japanese retailers will likely get additional stock when it arrives. Curious if that price + shipping will be less than $279.99.
Thanks in advance guys!
