12 inches of pure Infrapleasure for InfraFans everywhere! The Bone soldier is there, too! This set was a limited-edition release coinciding with the theatrical release of the movie itself, back in the mid-'70s.
Occassionally, on the net, at places like Amazon.com, and other private DVD outlets (usually Asian DVD dealers), I've seen Inframan DVD gift-sets with small "super-deformed" Inframan/Bone soldier figures.
Get him while he's HOT!!!

after seeing that youtube video Magengar showed in a different post. I have to admit it's very strange. I havn't seen it yet.. or seen any clips in the original cantonese language. But it's sentai action with Shaw brothers fighting and sound FX.. Logically I know what it is.. but seeing it combined is weird (I'm a huge Shaw brothers kungfu fan)
It Is Pioneering, for China... ...this is their "response" to Japan's Ultraman. ;D
Not to spoil this film, but...
This is the Only movie of its kind (KungFu/Monster/Sci-Fi/Cyborg/Robot) ever put out by Shaw Brothers- they hit it Right On The Mark for a First (and Only), and I say it is a Cult-classic! It's even Harder to find through the torrent networks!
The Shaws combined the fancy dancy Kung-fu styles with some great Japanese sentai (and a little bit of "Kaiju": the scene where the actors grow to giant size) action and sound effects, to come up with this fine masterpiece. There's more to Inframan than what that YouTube video shows, His weapons are friggin Awesome!
I saw it when it hit the big-screen the day after I saw Star Wars the same month SW had opened... ...I sat in the theatre for Hours watchin Inframan over and over and over and over again... since then I've been HOOKED! I rank him as my "Chinese Mazinger-Z" heheheh... ...that YouTube videoclip Does Not do this film justice-- ---ya Gotta get this Inframan DVD... Get it QUICK!!! Get the Cantonese version, if you understand Cantonese. Get the english-dubbed version... Just GET IT!!! ;D
This movie is Worthy of every sentai fan's collection; I promise y'all won't be disappointed!

PS: I forgot to mention: Bruce Le appears in this film, as one of the Infra-team members. He's the dude fightin the Spider before Inframan appears.

That's what I liked about Kamen Rider the First. It was Tokusatsu at its finest by paying tribute to the original Kamen Rider and the benefit of HK style Kung Fu action. Thailand is coming very close HK in the martial arts department with Ong Bak and The Protector (US title), but HK has years of experience and talent making it still the top dog in the industry. Not to leave anyone out, but Korea is getting real good as well. I can't believe Japan is not really very spectacular when it comes to martial arts, just some kicks (some of which are pretty dazzling), and mostly judo, almost like watching a Professional Wrestling match.
We are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude. We forge our tradition in the spirits of our ancestors. You have our gratitude.

well I herd in asia theres a lot of intermixing of how things are filmed. I can't recall which movies but I know Donnie Yen has helped choreograph a few japanese movies.
Yeah I have to say a lot of the shots that Tony jah has in his movies are very reminicient to Jacky Chan's old stuff. But a lot more polished and intricate (and crams a lot more stunts in his movies).
Yeah I find myslef watching a lot more korean stuff these days. The content and the fighting scenes are pretty awesome. Arahan was probably one of my favorite korean martial arts comedy! Plus the actress in it is pretty hot!
But I guess I'll have to check out Inframan. I think I saw the parts broken up in youtube. But yet again its in Mandarin. Gak! One of my pet peve's with some of the Shaw Brother films (re release). Is that the old cantonese audios had been lost, or in poor quailty, and only the mandarin version were in tact.

I have the Inframan torrent file in original Cantonese. There are english-dub versions available, too.
But keep in mind, I had a very hard time finding the Inframan torrent, and downloading it, because it was uploaded roughly three years ago- I found it in a dead toorent section of the T'site where I got it from.
The torrent file itself wasn't seeded, and I got stuck at 99.9% of the download; therefore I kept that file as is... ...the entire movie file is intact except for the end-credit rolls; but the movie itself is still watchable, and in very good quality.
Perhaps if I can zip it, and upload it to a free-filehosting site then some of you folks who can understand Cantonese can d/load this version. I'll receive my english-dub dvd version in the mail sometime next week, from an ebay auction that I won last weekend.
I wonder about that. Japan seems to have done very well, from what I've seen in the classic Goranger series. And they're doing just as fine, with new movies such as Princes Blade, Returner, and Shinobi- to name a few.
Sometimes I do get a little impatient with Japanese martial arts, when I watch old Sonny Chiba movies (Streetfighter, and my favorite "Sister Streetfighter") them dudes take too long to strike blows, but once they clash- the force is brutal.
In Chinese martial arts, the fighting is a little more dramatic and operatic; gynmastics come into play here as well, for added visual effect. But it is mostly Spiritual. Styles are influenced by the natural elements of Nature, Beast and the Universe. The "fighter" moves in ways which depict the natural motion and texture of the element portayed in the fighting style. Much of these styles are developed for the purposes of Healing and Cleansing of one's own self and the environment arount him, of any and all Negative forces whether they are physical or spiritual; bringing restoration, order, and cleanliness into being... You can use the force, or you can use the flow. And it doesn't always have to be all "sword, fist, slash" either.
Inframan successfully added Japanese sci-fi action to the Chinese mystical kungfu element, to bring the best of both worlds together into this one movie.

Here it is, The Super Inframan in Cantonese language...
If you have highspeed internet connection (Cable/DSL/broadband) this download should take just a few minutes. If you have Dialup, prepare to camp out for the next day or two...
This zipfile contains the Inframan movie, plus an ".srt" file which contains the english subtitles... The srt file can be opened in Notepad; but if you're good at creating an actual Subtitled movie, this srt file can be opened in a Subtitler program that supports srt files. Subtitler programs can be found at www.videohelp.com
Make sure you read the included "tHEsUPERiNFRAMAN" text document for further instructions about this movie and how you can burn it to dvd.
The movie is in DivX avi format, meaning you'll need the DivX Player and the latest DivX codecs to watch this movie (and Any divx avi movie) in your computer. You can get the lastest DivX Player and codecs at www.divx.com
Let me know how y'all make out with this. Enjoy!

"...nailed the last nail..." uhmmm... is that good or bad?
Oh, I forgot to mention-- I had Now included the English subtitle ".srt" file with this FTP upload. If anyone wants it, and they can use it, go ahead and use it for your subtitling purposes.
I'm using a trial-period program called TurboFTP which allows me to upload/download from my FTP site at files-upload.com/
...This is a free filehosting FTP site where you can store and share files via FTP, which I'm learning how to do. After my TurboFTP trial has ended, I'll try to find a freebie FTP manager/uploader for sharing other stuff.

I've not had time to watch the whole thing yet or mess around with subtitles but it looks great.

Oh, I forgot to mention-- I didn't include the English subtitle ".srt" file with this FTP upload. But, if anyone wants it, and they can use it, gimme a shout and I'll send it as a Text (.txt) document. (better if I just upload it to the FTP) LMK.
