It's a shame all of these great Jumbos never sold in America. I'm sure they would have been a big hit. My favorite has got to be the Voltes V. What can I say. He's perfectly proportioned and has great features such as his sword, missles and tank gear conversion. I think he looks much better than the diecast figures I've seen. Feel pretty lucky to own one.
Anyone have a favorite Jumbo or two? If you have a Popy box that is not hear, please send me a photo and I'll post it. Thanks!

Cool, good idea. You know I love the boxes, and I don't think I've ever seen them all presented that way. I've been a bit busy, but I'll try to send you some more soon. I've got about 9 more not shown there, if you only want Popy boxes. I might be able to dig up some others too, from old auctions and stuff.

I agree. Dangard Ace is probably the best jumbo out there, imo. Daltanious and Grendizer are right there as well.

Hey, Don't forget Voltes V.  O.K. so maybe I'm a bit bias. I think if you had one, you'll agree too. The sword is rather cool on Voltes V. Yah, I do think the Danguard Ace box is o.k. Perhaps they should have shown more of his arms. He seems a bit cramp in the space. Would also be nice if the background helped to showcase him more. He seems to blend into it with all the blue and black colors. Just my designers eye critique. |

Red Baron, Voltes, and Mekanda boxes catch my eye. The art there & on Gaiking too is incredible.

This thread rocks! I have a vintage poster with the same art as the Daiku Maryu box. I have been dragging the thing around with me since I was 10. I am planning to have it framed to prevent further damage. When it gets done I will share some pics.
