thank you capt for your comment.........I love those figures......I don't why but I love them and I know you love them too..... Yes, I can't deny I love these guys... But, for me, this wasn't a love-at-first-sight like the SOC. They've got an amazing shelf presence, and, as you've said, they look dead-on. I guess my problem was for too long I had just Grandizer and he looked out of place in my collection. Then, on my honeymoon, my fantastic wife bought me a Great Mazinger, then I had to find a Maz Z to finish the Trinity and it's been downhill ever since...this thread has increased my interest tenfold. So here's where I am today: The Shin Getter's a KO(his black bro wouldn't fit in the pic), Getter Poseidon's on the way from Japan. I'm looking for a Dragun and Boss Borot and then maybe the OAV mazinger with the "you make me evolve into the devil ?" box... These guys look great in groups. And for me, who displays my toys out of the box, these guys are the EASIEST to clean. I line 'em up in the shower and let em take a shower for about 5 minutes. The water washes the dust away and then I just leave em in the tub to dry...Only once shocking my wife in the morning as she got ready for work...

Thanks for the info, guys. ;D I've heard of that toyline. But I'm not sure I'd be interested in collecting those. Still, those are nice figs. zozo-Magengar Just as captainamerica mentioned, that Garada K7 figure is a Marmit, but it's from another Mazinger Z figure series called "Vinyl Paradise."

I give my figs a quick wipe-down with a small piece of terry cloth (the same cloth used in bath towels)... then I give 'em a quick blast of air from a can of Blast Away used for blowin dust off of computers and electronics.
I've seen some chemicals made for cleaning vinyl material, but I presume these are meant for the vinyl cloth material... I wouldn't trust using these chemicals on my vinyl figs, for fear they my eat the colors away or break the vinyl down.
Whenever I'm smokin in my room, I drape some plastic trashbags over my display shelves; and open a window... I stick a fan in my window with the blades blowing the room air Outside, to suck away the smoke.

That Black great maz looks great, even in his mittens...
emerson: I'm pleased with the the KO Shin Getter; it doesn't have the nice glossy finish the other marmits do, but that's the only real obvious difference. On mine, the rings above the elbows (where there's a joint) look a little uneven on one side, like that's where they trimmed a little excess vinyl off by hand. Shin Getter, althougha Go Nagai bot, just doesn't rate very high with me. So if (when?) space becomes a premium, he'll likely get the exit first...

I've seen those guys on eBay and have been debating if the cost plus shipping from HK was worth it...

mannix143, the KOs you have are most likely knockoffs of the much larger 50cm Kaiyodo "Mega Soft Vinyl" model kits, not these Marmit FLOSR figures. As far as I know, there are no Marmit FLOSR knockoffs. The Kaiyodo kits (and your knockoffs) should not only be much taller than the Marmit FLOSRs, but "buffer" and longer-limbed....especially the legs. The Kaiyodo proportions are actually much nicer and dynamic-looking than the Marmit sculpts, in my opinion. There were 4 of them: Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Getter 1 and Combattler, and each came boxed in a plain, cardboard box with a triangular window cut out of the front. Sometimes turquoise, sometimes purple, sometimes white....but never with any box art, markings, words, logos, etc. If nothing else, the first clue that the KOs are not Marmit KOs is the existience of the Combattler KO. There was a Combattler kit in Kaiyodo's "Mega Soft Vinyl" series. However, there was never a Marmit FLOSR Combattler. Lots of people confuse these very abundant KOs as copies of the Marmit FLOSRs, because the FLOSRs are probably the most prevalent, large-scale, modern vinyl representations of the various Super Robots. And by comparison, the Kaiyodo kits were pretty obscure. Super RARE is the pre-assembled, pre-painted version of Kaiyodo's Mazinger Z kit. I have 11 Marmit FLOSRs and their closely-related Daigokin brethren. I also have the original, completed Kaiyodo Mazinger Z, and knockoffs of Kaiyodo Great Maz, Getter 1 and Combattler. I'll get around to posting comparison pics soon.

OK, I went back to digging around HLJ to get more info on Kaiyodo's long-discontinued "Mega Soft Vinyl" line of jumbo vinyl kits, from 40-50cm when completed. Retailed for 6800-9800 Yen. Turns out there were about 13 kits in the series, released in 1997 and 1998, 1-2 years before the Marmit FLOSRs hit the market. List as follows: KYDMS01 Mazinger Z KYDMS01X Mazinger Z (completed)KYDMS02 Ultraman KYDMS03 ? KYDMS04 EVA-01 Test Type KYDMS05 Combattler VKYDMS06 Kamen Rider 1 KYDMS07 ? KYDMS08 Great Mazinger KYDMS09 Getter OneKYDMS10 Kikaider KYDMS11 Hakaider KYDMS12 Godzilla 1962 - Sakai Version KYDMS13 Kamen Rider 2 Only 4 were Super Robots: Mazinger, Great Mazinger, Getter One and Combattler. Only Mazinger was also released as a "completed" version. All four have been knocked off and sold all over the world and eBay. (Albeit with subpar fit and finish.) If Kaiyodo had released more Super Robots, and offered completed versions of all of them, the market for the later Marmit FLOSRs would have been weaker, in my opinion. The only true apples to apples comparison, alas, is Kaiyodo's completed Mazinger and Marmit's FLOSR Mazinger...IMO, the Kaiyodo is better sculpted, much LARGER, sturdier, and has a cleaner paint job. Check the FLOSR Maz photo two posts above with the Kaiyodo Completed Maz photo below, and you will see the FLOSR is scrawnier throughout, with a proportionally bigger head, and shorter legs. www.hlj.com/product/KYDMS01www.hlj.com/product/KYDMS01Xwww.hlj.com/product/KYDMS08www.hlj.com/product/KYDMS09www.hlj.com/product/KYDMS05Boxes Kits Mazinger, Completed Version
