Ive used Jasco paint remover to remove paint off my 56 chevy and it works really well. I recomend some gloves because this stuff is toxic and will burn if it lands on your skin. Also make sure you wash the part after you scrape off the paint remover or your primer coat will peel. After If it has detailed areas use an old tooth brush and a dremel brush to clean them out. It depends on how large a part you want to clean off. The Dremel wire brush technic doesn't scratch diecast enough to leave deep scratches when you primer as a matter of fact 320 grit sand paper will leave more scratches. Just don't use it for plastic because it will leave scratches. Brake fluid works best with removing enamel off plastics. With diecast it will take a bit longer. For a large piece of diecast such as the Pilder I would recomend paint striper.

I did a gunmetal black. I made a thread along time ago. The thread was one of the threads lost when R-J was updated. I only have a few pictures and none of the finished product........... Try to remove the plastic parts from the diecast or a method that works, but takes a long time is mask the plastic parts and use sand paper to sand the paint off the diecast. If your going to use the paint remover I recommend masking the plastic parts and use a cheap paint brush to carefully apply it on. Since the paint on diecast is thin a light coat will be sufficient. After wash the part with lots of water. Any of the methods we desribed will work or a combination. Try them and see what works best for you. Oh, and a quick way to remove chrome from plastic is use TSP. Warm water with TSP powder in it will remove chrome from plastic in 15 minutes.

Only difference between me and them crows is, They can keep da daipers-- I just want da Gadgets! ;D Man, it seems your PX-01 took the "Homer Simpson tumbling down the side of the mountain" kind of fall, huh... bashed beyond recognition and mauled by the neighbor's dog. I just Know that's gotta hurt! Mannix, put yer KrazyGlue away- the PX is Gone to doggie chew-toy Heaven! ;D zozo-Magengar Yeah magengar , "your the one dumpster diving huh " ! I know it was you ! well since the topic is paint.... anyone knows a brand of spray paint that has a lot of colors, like lets say blue, then has a metalllic blue, and sky blue, dark blue. I mean in many shades of the color.
im using krylon spray cans(multi-purpose paint) and it seems they only have solid colors without the other shade or degree of that color.
any brand that i can use multi-purpose would be great(ie. for metal, plastic, PVC, ans such) would be great.
thanks
