Wanna try a group project guys?

Hey fellas, its been a rough time for me at work and I'm kinda getting tired of doing the stuff I do day in and day out. Why don't we try a group project? As in anyone can get involved in coming up with ideas of doing a mecha or robot, we'll decide on one concept or idea then work towards the prototype figure? Think it should be kinda fun and refreshing to do something like this.

-Back when my mind wandered on new designs I wanted to see a robot with gatling guns, a non traditional head, and a twist- say without traditional arms or legs.

Heh cool! Keep them ideas coming guys. When we have enough ideas we should do a vote, then get a great illustrator like REX to do up the line art turnaround and maybe a poster for it. I'll do the model in 3D and have it prototyped out.

What do you guys have in mind for design? A general super robot (Mazinger, Tetsujin, Giant robo, etc.), a super robot with transforming / combining feature (Voltes, Golion, Daimos, Raideen - Transformation has to be simple), or a real robot (Gundam, Valkyrie, Armored Core bots etc.)?

I maybe able to submit a design!

If you guys are interested I've been toying with a Super Robot manga concept... if you'd like I can scan some of the character designs, post some of my story notes and get a robot design going with my friend (who is great for bots).

Heh cool, keep them coming. But on a side note that as neat as all these concepts are, I was thinking more along the lines of a main character type that can stand out on a poster, like combining robots we have voltes V, Godmars, Voltron, Dancougar, Getter, Mazinger, or even Kikaider. You guys know what I mean. How would you guys back your design with a storyline? I'm hoping we'd make something like a heroic robot, maybe even suitable to be RJ's mascot or something.

Well... here's my the story I've been working on. Its designed to be a one shot comic that's set up as the last episode of a Super Robot anime, but also be a deep enough that there could be alot of story built up around it. Also, its really pretty cheesy, but that's because that's kind of how alot of those shows come across and I think it's fun. Right now I'm working on another comic, but I would really love to get back to this, considering that my robot fandom has increased a million fold since I originally wrote this (which I did after a two day Nadesico marathon). So any feed back would be great, I only have very rough concepts for the character design right now as well but I can post a rough sketch I did the other day of the main character, Shin Tennou.

DAITENNAR

Episode 27:

THE ANSWR FOUND AT THE BRINK OF DEATH!!!

Summary: After finding out that his trusted friend and DAITENNAR’s co-pilot, Ikazuchi, was in truth a double agent working to undermine the newly won peace between the Ultra-terrestrials and the Earth, the heroic pilot, Shin engaged Ikazuchi in a heated battle which destroyed the evacuated city, Megatropolis X. Filled with despair over the loss of both his city and his friend, Shin lets DAITENNAR slip in to its berserk auto pilot mode just as the deposed Ultra-terrestrial despot, Luciferion, arrives in his Machine King, SATANAS. As the world teeters on the brink of destruction brought about by the battling Machine Kings, it is up to Princess Mirai to rescue Shin’s heart from darkness and resurrect the world’s last hope for salvation! And what of Ikazuchi, whose Ultra-Terrestrial Machine Armor, HYPERION lies at the bottom of the sea, as it’s pilot seeks his soul’s own answers?


Also some notes:

Princess Mirai is an Ultra-Terrestrial who ursurps Luciferion part way through the series and brings peace between her people and the Earth. She's also Ikazuchi's sister and Shin's love interest.

Ikazuchi was the second pilot of Daitennar but the robot really only needs a single pilot, like Gurren Lagann.

Daitennar is controled by the spirit and will power of his pilot, but will fall into a berserk state if the pilot loses heart.

There are two classes of robots: Machine Kings and Machine Armor.
