You guys have been amazingly helpful!
I think it's gotta be Gx-01R for me. If I go with a second one, it'll be Gx-02R.
By the way, any more opinions on the launch base? Looks like a great way to display your piece, but I won't waste my money if it isn't worth it.

Launch base...mmmh...good but I prefer spend my money for chogokin. The most interesting thing in the lauhc base is an accessory:the super mega rocket punch, white with a gold ring around to the wrist, that Mazinger z has used only in one episode to breark off the armor of an enemy...very cool ,bye

Think of the launch base as the regular display stand that comes with the GX toys (except for the big ones like Combattler and Dancouga). NOw, put in on a tall rectangular box, with levers to work an "elevator" piece. That's basically the launch base. The nic thing about it is, you can basically fit any of the Mazinger GX variants as well as Grendizer, Getter One, and Great Mazinger. Apparently, 3 launch bases combine into one for GX-01/1R, GX-02/02R, and GX-04. us.st2.yimg.com/store6.yimg.com/I/matrixcollectibles_1751_187264039But IMHO, it aint buying. I'm sure someone's selling a loose one (good condition) in eBay.

i agree, it's not worth buying the launch base, since you can get an entire set of The Chogokin with the money and have some left over for lunch. better to just make your own out of balsa wood and illustration board. i'm sure with a little thought, you can even build your own a motorized, or at least a counterweight powered, elevator.

WOW...I thought that I knew what Mazingers were out there but this is an awesome range. It'd be great to get them all but would especially like to get the GX-02R as I'm waiting for my GX-01R to arrive, does anyone have a link to a store selling the 02R?

I've been getting toys from Greattoys for a while now, in fact, most if not all of the Filipino members on this board who are still based in PI, get their toys from GT. He pack's em good, and has very competetive prices. You should email him for mor info, or send him a PM. Here's a member of this boards Anywhoo, if you're still looking for a good place to get the GX-02R (Great Mazinger revision), you can check on this link: www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN911828

Thanks Omni! This is like toy Nirvana ...I'll be putting in my order for the GX-02R & I've also got my eye on quite a bit more. I'm originally from PI and moved to Aus when I was 9, my favourite toys then were u guessed it - Mazinger (& Voltes) and getting these is like getting part of my past back. Just got my GX-01R and it kicks major tail...can't get that show theme out of my head now.

You're more than welcome dude.
I am iron and zinc deficient, but I recently found out that buying Aoshima Shin Seiki's and SOC's give me my daily RDA's worth ;D
Enjoy!

thanks for promoting me.. GX-02R is quite expensive from my supplier since he was produced in fewer quantities compared to GX-01R. I have nearly all the SOCs in stock except for Minerva and Gaiking. ;D You're more than welcome dude.
