Ok this is a story of a good friend of mine. We like to boast about our ridiculously good fortune at finding awesome vintage stuff with a cool story to go with it. Mine was the MIB Takatoku GBP gift set I got for free couple years ago. It was stored in a red tub for more than 20 years. (I posted this tale in the takatoku threads a while back) Well this story tops mine by far, debatable cause again mine was free, but the sheer amazement of this find is jaw dropping. My friend XStoys, some of you know who he is, was approached by a fellow teacher at Art Center. he was asked "hey you like japanese robot toys right?" of course he took the bait. the fellow teacher's friend was getting rid of some old toys that had been in her attic for years. XStoys met up with her to discover a godaikin holy grail. This lady interned for disney back in the 80s. they went to PonyToy Go round in little tokyo, downtown LA. She went with her coworkers and peer pressure prolly bought these gems. He got: Loose but immaculate MINT cond. tetsujin 28 MIB Voltes V MINT POPY version Go-Lion (not godaikin) with box cover and window insert Loose MINT God Marz and how much did he pay for this? a whopping $260 unfortunately my camera died half way thru him showing me this amazing find.

Hey, isn't that the store in downtown LA near the east side, near Dodger Stadium (Little Tokyo/Chinatown area) or Los Alamedas somewhere there? I used to live in LA back in the early-mid-'90s, and worked as a Bike-messenger in the downtown area (hung out beneath "the bridge" on Figueroa St, and the BofA fountain plaza, between runs)... ...during my runs, I'd ride up to that store to gaze at the big Ultraman vinyl figure in the window. Thanks for bringin back some real cool memories! ;D BTW, that there is, indeed, a Great Haul! zozo-Magengar

I remember Pony Toy as a kid. I think it was first inside the Yaohan store. They had the Super, Strike Valks, and some Kamen Rider stuff on the shelf. As mentioned before, the stuff was super expensive.
Congrats to your friend on the find!

Great find man!! I'm jealous! LOL!
Hey, what a cool store! I like the figs in the background especially the classic Battlestar Galactica Helmet.
Where Is this store? And is that Spiderman a figure or a poster? And that superman looks like a CHristopher Reeve custom!

And the sad thing is he is not the worst I have heard of. He went to another guy who lives somewhere in Beverly hills/Bel air. This guy collects 1:1 scale. Sentai costumes, army clothes etc. While we play with 1:6 scale figures like HALO jumpers, swat teams, navy seals etc. This guy has it all. Even a real Astronaut suit. He is hugely into props and real steel.
