Here's one of mine. When I was 9 years old a teenaged neighbor of mine had several Transformers, some Go-Bots, and a couple of GoDaiKin robots. One was Daltanias, the other, Tesujin 28. I somehow ended up with Daltanias and traded it to a friend of mine. I don't remember what the trade was but I'm certain it was stupid. Later, My dad stealthily bought the Testujin for me from my neighbor. I loved this toy so much. It was in terrific condition, had one silver robot, the roboy figure, four red missiles, his axe, all of the magnetic panels, the backpack, and all of the features worked properly. I was in robot Heaven. I already had a bootleg Voltron III (called both GoLion and Lion Bot on it's box.) Those were good days. Then, when I was 17, I found this antique toystore downtown. The sign in the window said "buying toys". I had LOT'S of toys, so went in to discuss this matter. The owner ended up buying almost all of my old toys from childhood. All I wanted to keep were my Masters of the Universe toys (my all time favorite toys), my C-3PO carrying Case that was overflowing with Star Wars figures, and I wanted to keep my small collection of Japanese robots. At this point My robot collection wasn't big, but I wanted to keep them. I still had Tetsujin, bootleg Voltron, Matchbox Dairugger Voltron, Orguss Orgroid, and a Matchbox Robotech Alpha. I kept my robots, but money was tempting me, so I caved in. Tetsujin sold. I got a whopping 40 dollars, just what my dad paid for it. I asked that he let me know if he was going to sell it, so I could buy it back. He told me that he would keep it for his private collection, but he'd give me first dibs if he needed money. This did not happen. Instead, he sold it for a large profit to a hardcore robot collecting policeman that frequented the store. I was mad when I found out, but I said nothing. Keep in mind that about this time, the internet was pretty useless and people would rely on magazine price guides instead of what something sold for in an auction. On a whim last year, I looked up Tetsujin 28 on eBay and nearly had a heart attack when I saw what one that was far from complete, missing stickers, and one of the arm covers had reached in bids and the auction wasn't even over yet. I got duped, people. 14 years after the fact I realized this. Every time I think about it I get pissed off. So, anybody have similar tales, or stories about how Garbin broke in fifteen places just from removing him from the box?

When I was about 8 my female cousin came to visit from California. She had a little crush on me so when my mom insisted that I give her some of my Japanese toys because "I wasn't using them"I regretfully agreed. To make a long story short, there went my 3 mint in box Jap.edition Arks,2 Bullmarks,1 Bullpet,a couple of takatokus, and various extremely rare Popys.I dont even want to remember which they were, but I do every time I have to rebuy one at some rediculous price.Oh yeah I cant even remember what happened to my Maz.Raideen jumbos

I played with mine as a kid and trashed them. I had alot of GoDaikins, Shogun Warriors, Bullmark stuff. Whats left now is just bits and pieces.
Being a kid, you don't realize that some years down the line as an adult you'll end up sending double, triple what was paid originally.

mine was the voltes V dx, we use to put strings on it to look like its really flying, but the toy was heavy and the string keeps breaking, so we trashed our voltes to smitherinz, if i knew that this will be a collectors item, i would have kept it in a nice condition

How's this, I sold my MIB Combattler Godaikin for $60 shipped around 1987-1988 time frame before I realized that these things increased in value. Grrrrrrrrr.

My horror story is that I didn't have any when I was a kid. My friend did. He had Daltanius,Google V, and I think Guardian. We would take these nice heavy diecast toys and play with them in this giant dirt pile in front of his house. We had some epic battles going on. After that he would just leave them in the dirt. Transforming the toys was almost imposible due to all the joints were gunked full of dirt.

I can top that. I remember the kid accross the road from us had a daltanius that his father brought back from Japan in the early 80's. The last time I saw it he was smashing it with a rock from the rock garden because his father wouldn't let him watch Battle of the Planets....a BIG rock. 'course I didn't know what it was back then. I was more Strawberry b*tchcake orientated.

this is my story with my very first Popy toy ever...I saw my cousin had Gendizer Popy GA-37 DX in 1980.....which I didn't know it was popy nor a GA-37........I knew me and my cousin and every person lived in my country as Grendizer...Grendizer was and still my TOP pick no matter what...so me and cousin both are 7 years old at that time...when I saw his toy I went crazy...my father even recorded my vioce while I was dreaming and talking in my sleep about Grendizer DukeFleed and Kuji...my parents were shocked about me talking in my sleep...I guess me and my cousin played all day with Grendizer and we were watching some recorded VHS tapes off TV...we were kids anyway, I went the next day to buy that toy and in my country which is Kuwait, there was ONLY 1 store that sells it...I got my popy for an equivelant amount to $30 or $31 USD...the very next day...the Grendizer suacer fall off my hand and got broken...I needed to buy another one...I went to the store and they were sold out already...the owner told me to come by next month he has few arriving...I said ok but hold one for me...so I took my broken GA-37 and we went to Italy and few other European countries for the summer vacation to escape the heat...what happens in Italy you say?!!!!............my Grendizer got stolen from the hotel room......I made a big deal about it.....my father complained....but nothing happened....no toy no GA-37....went back home...and again all the GA-37's were sold out again and the owner can not get any more of them....................I took a promise to find a new one...........it took me exactly from 1980 up to 2006........a total of 26 years to find a NEW 1........I found a used ones........and I kept buying whatever I see with my 2 eyes............but I couldn't find a new one........just around july of 2006....I finally did found one NEW and I bought it from YJA....and this is the actual picture of the toy that I won.......and now I have it infront of my eyes in its box....inside another protective box.......I have other toys that worth more than this...but this is my top of the line pick of all time. This is the actual picture below taken from the YJA that I won.

Hey, that Grendy DX was my first gokin as well back in 1978(?) I got it for my 5th birthday. Remember enjoying the Grendizer a whole lot more than the space saucer and for some reason, I had more fun with this toy than I ever did with GX-04S. Figures...

ICC, you don't want to address all Italian people as thieves. There are thieves there as everywhere else in the world, so it was just bad luck. There are many good people in Italy, I even married one!:-)

There are many good people in Italy, I even married one!:-) and who did accused all of the Italians of being theives? ?? unless you know the person who stole my toy?!!!!!! ) read and understand what is written first before you be on the offensive mode, I said, it was stolen from my hotel room in Italy...how many people stole it? I have no idea...I was not there........and the room service workers were Italians....so I am sure that one stole it.....no one has access to hotel rooms while guests are living in certain rooms to be allowed to enter unless the "SERVICE ROOM" Sign was up.........and does that makes all of them thieves? I DON'T THINK SO................I have too too many Italian friends, even girlfriends...........and non of them gave the comment that you have made to me..............so..........in this case, if the suit fits you, then wear it
