I know this subject has been covered many times before... ...just posting this as a refresher, and for those who'd like to get started learning about moldmaking and casting. I prepared an "imaged" tutorial from webpages of the info which I copied from Mold-Maker.com, and placed this tutorial in my folder at my Multiply page so y'all can download for personal reference. I'm new at this, too. So, I'm sharing this with y'all. Enjoy! Here's the link to the tutorial... magengar.multiply.com/photos/album/14/How_To_Make_A_Two-Part_Moldzozo-Magengar

Awesome! Perhaps there'll be a greater resurgence to make more custom figures around here! zozo-Magengar

I have a REALLY hard time reading that Magengar . I see how we use clay, then make a silicone half. But then I don't see how the second silicone mate is created. E

Simple... (it makes sense to make the "male" mold mate first, by carving a trench in the clay around the model, and pouring in the liquid moldmaking rubber-- which will cure as a "male" mate) --then, once the first mate is made: 1> leave the model in the silicone first half mold, 2> flip the whole thing over, rebuild your wall around it, and spray the setup (mold and model) with release agent, 3> then pour in the next batch of liquild moldmaking rubber and let it cure. I'm really a novice at this, and haven't made anything with this yet. I'm learning which materials work best curing at room temperature (the RVT Silicone would fit my budget best). Right now I'm practicing with with Durham's Rock Hard Putty and plaster. Soon as I'm ready and have money set aside, I'll start buying my moldmaking supplies and resin kits... ...I'll need it soon: my RAH Medicom Great Maz fell off the shelf and lost its Condor! ;D zozo-Magengar I have a REALLY hard time reading that Magengar .
