I am getting my Daimos tommorrow from BBTS. I cant wait!! Is it really as cool as its seems?? Anyone??

I got an email back fron Andy stating that I will get mine on his next shipment-last week of October. I can wait no problem, I just hope that I will be getting as close to perfect is.  Yup, first come first served with BetaToys. I'm glad I ordered really early because Daimos is (engineering and nostalgia-wise) AWESOME! The two units I got from Andy are Hongkong versions if anyone is curious. Both are in excellent condition too with no paint chips or any factory boo-boo ;D as it seems Daimos is heavily ordered. which explains why the sellers are late a bit I don't think it's that. I think it's more of a distribution/logistics issue. As mentioned before, Daimos is already heaviliy discounted even in Japan - meaning supply is more than demand. |

Zman, the hongkong version does not mean it comes with the Daimos crystal?
So nothing is different except for the sticker at the back of the box?
I only got the notification of shipping anyday soon, rather than the
last week of Oct.
Sigh, still no Daimos.....

Well, I finally got to open my Daimos today. Despite the damage to the outer box Daimos is intact in all his glory. I am very happy with mine. I didn't bother with trying to transform it to Tranzer mode with fear of scratching it. I usually display all of my SOCs in robot mode anyway. My friends son came over today when I was opening it. He is 4 and thought it was the coolest thing. He kept telling his mom how it transforms into a "truck" and how the "car" goes in the feet. It was cute.  Please excuse the crappy cellphone picture. I really need to get myself a quality digital camera. |

Does Andy mail people any sort of notification before shipping or does the package just show up at your door? I haven't heard anything about my Daimos either way.

Andy sent me a FedEx tracking confirmation e-mail Friday along with the tracking number. I'll be getting it by the end of this week.

BetaToys did not get them. As far as the HK vs Jp box, I believe they are the same except for the stickers. In other places, like in Taiwan, the Jp versions cost a lot more than the HK versions. You can't blame them since piracy is so rampart, people become a little paranoid. Does Andy mail people any sort of notification before shipping or does the package just show up at your door? I haven't heard anything about my Daimos either way. Yes, he usually sends you a tracking #. |

Cool picture zman, but you should've had one of the Godaikin/Popy Daimos in TRANZER mode... like you did with the SOC.

Got my own Daimos from Betatoys today too... First impression is .... well... eh. His robot mode is pretty nice and poseable, and really stable. The transformation kinda loses points for me because it's really fiddly, doesn't feel as well done as past transforming SOCs, and Tranzer mode is pretty boring. The very plasticy feeling shell (yes, with paint scrapes out of the box. Tsk, tsk, Bandai! Clearcoating should have been an obvious step!) doesn't really help, either, so I think Daimos will be staying in robot mode for the duration of his shelf stay.
That being said, he can do some pretty nice poses and his shoulder and elbow design give him a lot of great flexibility. The extendy-hips, though they make for some slightly odd spread poses, give him the ability to stand level even when he's adopting various martial arts stances, which is pretty nice.
Maybe pics tonight, maybe tomorrow or the weekend sometime.
