thats a epic match up!!!! as a kid or now.. having these remote figs to battle each other would be awesome fun for a weekend afternoon. I hope one day they'll be affordable as those tiny remote control cars are now.

These really look fantastic, and they move quite fluidly. How much longer until You can get one in 1/1 scale?

Wow, that's awesome. I like the more realistic proportions too, it still managed to capture the design very well while making him a little less stubby.

These really look fantastic, and they move quite fluidly. How much longer until You can get one in 1/1 scale? Forget about it. Here is an article I have read : " The Japanese Science Portal has specced out and priced a giant mecha robot, the Gundam. It takes a certain mind to apply a mundane spreadsheet to something as out-and-out awesome as an 18 meter tall robot, but amongst the numbers are some great dream components.
The brain, for instance, would be IBM's Blue Gene supercomputer (¥171 million or $1.6 million); 30 400KW motors would supply the movement (total cost $7.8 million), and the seven Apache helicopter engines needed to power them would be another $52 million each. Pink Tentacle provides a better translation that Google's machine ever could, and the table from the site appears below. One thing is missing, though. An Orange County Choppers paintjob. "Here is the bill for estimated cost of Gundam parts: Aluminum alloy (honeycomb) = $1,800 (x 43,875) = $79,000,000 (+ Metal manufacturing/processing) = $240,000,000 Main computer (IBM) = $1,550,000 Gas turbine engines (GE) = $52,000,000 x 7 = $364,000,000 Superconductive motors (IHI) = $260,000 x 30 = $7,800,000 Motor drivers = $260,000 x 30 = $7,800,000 Reducers = $760,000 x 30 = $22,800,000 Sensors = $910,000 Cockpit = $450,000 TOTAL = $724,310,000 Anybody has a pen ?

But that's for a 1/1 Gundam, not for Tetsujin!

yes, it's not. But now you can imagine how much cost a 1/1 robot... Tetsujin 28 is probably cheaper than a gundam...

It'll pay for itself after a year or two.

A gundam would cost the rice of a few fighter jets to make. IT just wouldn't be very useful. Gundams are an unrealistic size for real robots. Something like Scopedogs makes more sense. Still giant compared to us, but only a few meters tall.

It'll pay for itself after a year or two. LOL! Now that's a sales pitch. "Don't worry about the price. In a couple years after you have squashed all your enemies with your plasma rifle and laser sword your Gundam will have paid for itself. Then you can use it to ward off pesky alien races from your newly established empire!" ;D
