There's an irresistable charm to the old-school bulky look... no wonder it got nicknamed "Sumo" but damn! Granted, Yamato's take is sexier, And I'm looking forward to getting the 1/48 version, still... If only Bandai had reissued GPB-1 when they reissued Super... One asks, why not? Were the molds really that far gone? Hmm...

A quick question for you guys. I'd like to get a GBP armor set, but which one should i get? I have mostly re-issue 1/55 valks and 1/55 Toynami Robotech Masterpiece.
Was thinking about getting th 1/60 scale set, but seeing your pics, it looks a little too small to sit well with the others i own.
is the 1/48 set going to be that much bigger? am i better off sacrificing the new-school detail for the old-school juicy Takatoku? the vintage might sit wierd with the newer valks.
I've been holding off on getting a VF-1J due to this...

I have all 3 versions (1/55, 1/60, 1/48) and I like the larger scales the best. The 1/60 has a little trouble staying on. Some of the armor likes to fall off if you look at it wrong. The 1/55 is great from a nostalgic standpoint - I wouldn't sell mine even though the 1/48 is more detailed/accurate.......everything. If you can only get one now, I would do the 1/48 VF-1J and GBP. You can't go wrong there. Would I suggest that you get a 1/55 also? OF COURSE! They are awesome in their own respect! Hope this helps!
