Well, it's a Yamato valk so there's about a 50/50 chance of the shoulders being f***ed. That said, this is my most highly anticipated Macross toy of 2009 so far (assuming the VF-25 makes it out this year).

I wish I could say the same. I am all about the v.2 1/60 VF-1s though for I never was able to collect the full 1/48 line. I prefer the size of the new 1/60s over the 1/48s anyways. Speaking of size......do you think that the VF-11B will be around the size of the 1/60 VF-0?

That's a good question. My memory tells me the VF-11 is somewhere between the VF-1 and VF-0 in size, which would put the toy a bit smaller than the Zero. I'm mostly likely wrong on that though. Anyone who is more scale-conscious want to chime in?

I never liked its look in mac plus but the yamato rendition looks awesome with the detailing. the $200 price sucks though.

Anyone who is more scale-conscious want to chime in? Size comparison between Valkyries in the Macross continuum: VF-1x = 14.23m VF-0x = 18.69 m VF-11x = 16.02 m VF-17x = 16.13m YF-19 = 18.62 m YF-21/VF-22 = 19.62m VF-19A = 18.62m VF-19F/S = 18.47 You're pretty spot on Eriku, the VF-11 is approximately 2m longer than the VF-1 and about the same length shorter than the VF-0.

Cool, I love it when some of the useless info that's packed into my brain leaks out in a somewhat accurate way.

Great answers.....thanks all!!! Still glad that I'm not gonna be getting this guy though. Not one of my fav. designs and it's rather bland looking. I do really dig the FP's though.

The pilot looks a tad big.
Anywhoo, looks nice, but it doesn't look like the shield sits flush with the chest panel in fighter mode (Pic 3). Anywhoo, looking forward to this toy.

I really, really, really, REALLY don't want to get sucked into a first-release Yamato valk again, but I don't know if I'll be able to resist on this one. Hopefully the scenario wont play out like it did for my last three first-release Yammies: Buy in haste Find out about potentially volatile QC problem Become too nervous to even touch toy Sell in haste But honestly, what could possibly go wrong with this release?

With the fairly good reviews for the YF-21 and very minimal issues, hopefully the 11B will be as good, or even better. ...the pilot still looks a tad too big though.

...the pilot still looks a tad too big though. I totally agree with ya here. Also what you said about the shield not sitting flush....it seems to be a VERY minimal amount of space there....plus...with the packs on...you cannot even tell.

Also what you said about the shield not sitting flush....it seems to be a VERY minimal amount of space there....plus...with the packs on...you cannot even tell. Looked at the pictures again, and it's not the chest plate. it's the shoulder plates (eyes giving out... must be age). looks like the tips of the shield go under the shoulder plates. Hmmm.... I wonder if it's just the pictures, or how it was transformed, or because this is a prototype. Oh, and one more thing... TAMPO PRINT THE DAMNED MARKINGS ALREADY!
