technically I was only off by about 90 days.. Gin Gin was completed about 3 months ago now.... and it underwent a 60 day hold up due to some pins on the shields being out of spec... I kept you all updated with the latest info as it went along. Damn, give a guy a break. Besides, I bet Im the only guy commenting here that is gonna buy Gin Gin anyway... you Metaltech stalkers you! ha ha Chill out, its a done deal and its in transit now.. LOL Congrats Gettershadow! You have almost singlehandedly brought this thread to 100 pages j/k bro. Oh man thats rough! Tom is a great guy dont razz him too much!but I know he has a good sense of humour, but I feel ya Tom,Im basically in the same position relaying what Dave says here and there, but you doget a thick skin after awhile!BTW these guys dont mean anything Im sure,we are all getting the toys, its just annoying when things end up like the MP thing. But we all know HLPro is a bit slow so we just gotta deal with it ya know?

Its cool.. thing is Im not a "spokesman" I don't work for HLPRO and I don't do this for a living. You know I just got a friend that has a lot of pull over there. I tell you guys everything I can as it comes up. The info I can give is accurate as can be at the time but things are ever-changing and problems and delays sometimes pop up and have to be overcome by these guys. These companies are not big "Soviet-style" Mass-production American companies that build things on massive credit lines propped up by shareholders and all that. These are fluid companies that are very independent with a lot of personal stuff happening in the background.
Last I was told. PBMs order should be at their warehouse on the 9th... it should go on sale soon after that. I do know that Gin Gin was built and completed months ago.. its done! Then they decided to wait until a bunch of other stuff the distributors wanted was completed so it could all ship out together.. that way the unit prices would be lower due to reduced shipping costs for HLPRO.. it costs less to ship out one big shipment then ship out a bunch of little ones.
I don't mean to get pissed-off, just remember that Im doing what I can to put out "UNOFFICAL" info out the "BACKDOOR" to you guys that wont get me into trouble with my friend at HLPRO. He and I will be talking about all kinds of things a lot of it outside Japanese robots and every now and then something interesting comes up and Ill ask him if I can tell you guys... 20% of the time he says "ok".. rest of the time its "NO, too early to put that out" and then there is just personal stuff about the other companies and what they are doing ect ect.
But you guys don't worry.. Gin Gin is long finished and they are moving on to Gattiger.. they are shooting to get that one out pretty soon too... in the meantime, Gin Gin should be up for sale in a little more than a week from what they are saying.

Def too much clowning...
And some of the "jokes" border on teasing... Seriously, everybody doesn't have thick skin.. There're bros from many different countries and culture here, and I'm sure some of us just don't understand the "joke." What's so funny? If you're blowing off steam, don't direct at GS. If I had comments like that directed to me, I wouldn't be too thrilled either. How many sarcasm do I have to endure before I break?
G.S. is our benefactor. He's a nice guy but I wouldn't joke with him too much.

OMG... Nobody ever posted anything negative against any member here. It has always been against the manufactures, in this particular case HLPro. Manufacturers do what they do, and nobody can change that. However, they will surely receive flak when they don't deliver as expected. Absolutely normal. }D

No one is attacking any members here, and I don't see any type of "clowning"....just pointing out the usual empty promises that HLPro keeps sayng. I'm the type of the guy that will call it how it's...not being biased towards a company nor sugar coating things.

I was giving the "unofficial" date.. just as a heads up to guys. HLPRO had given me permission to keep you guys posted on the progress and estimated release dates OF CERTAIN THINGS... like when the pegs on Gin Gin came back from the factory out of spec, I even told you guys what the problem was and that the date would have to be pushed back.. that was never "official" info.. it was info that was only given right here to YOU GUYS.. by ME, a friend of the guys running HLPRO. ... and I DO get mad a little bit when anyone disses a friend of mine who is working his f**king ass off to get things out to collectors. I had no idea as a fan how much bullsh*t these companies have to go through to get these things made. So many things can go wrong and so many things HAVE TO GO RIGHT. Im just asking you guys to be patient..chill out... both Bandai, CM and HLpro work hard as a motherf**ker to get these things out.
and let me add this.. HLpro doesn't lie or hype. If something gets delayed or something falls through., its always for a good reason. There is no "mean spiritedness" involved with it. Its usually due to something unexpected happening backstage that forces them to make a common sense decision that the collector cant see because he is not 'in the loop" of information. If you were to hear the reason for your self you would be like "oh yeah, of course.."

Well, he made it clear he's getting the "negative" vibe on some posts... Then we should tone it down...just because.

thanks Getter.. I just don't like my credibility to be called into question.. I give accurate information for the time that I give it... but there is always a possibility that some unforeseen factors change what I said in the past..
I also updated that post I put up before this one..

IM not saying that you guys cant speak your minds but Im asking you guys to be understanding...these guys are working HARD to give us what we want within reason. These guys are not lazy or unreliable.. its just that the battlefield is a dynamic place and the best plans rarely survive contact with the enemy. Just like an army, a good business remains flexible and able to respond quickly to changes behind the scene. One plan may be switched to another plan in the middle combat.. as an ex-Infantry soldier that's the best way I can explain whats going on with these companies.
But PLEASE, do not attack me or my friends if the battle plan changes... I will keep you updated. Gin Gin and a bunch of other stuff is soon to arrive.

Let's not get too emotional here and start accusing each others with "clowning" or being "negative"...no one here is questioning wether Tom is reliable or not...you are just delivering what you hear. I'm not going to deny the fact that you come across a little too biased towards HLPRO and their products (I can somewhat understand this, since you mention your friends work there).
Again and for the LAST TIME, when I say HLPRO is one of the worst when it comes to release dates, I don't mean YOU or whoever your friends are. I'm not saying they are lazy or unreliable either, but historically their figures are always late by 6 months to a year which brings me to the main point (In addition to their subpar quality): They are a smaller company with good ideas that can not be compared with the likes of Bandai and their level of engineering....YET. So let's not hype them up too much, cause that's what gets peoples expectations too high...and when they under deliver, then that's when fans won't be too happy and start to backlash.
I'm done with this topic, since I clearly conveyed my message and looking still forward to get Gin Gin hopefully soon.

I think things just got way out of control with MP,so now when things arent out on time,or close to it,we all think the worst.I can attest for Tom he is 100% straight up.And remember he is not making any money here either, nor I.The situation with MP/Dave sucks, and there is a difference between these situations obviously, but Mp made alot of people way more sensitive to companies putting out our stuff. If the characters were ones we didnt like,no one would even put a thought into how they work! I mean teh golden turkey thing put out by HLPro no one cares about,so we dont mention the slowness of that release etc..
In the days of fast food and Ipads we all want our stuff FAST.Im teh worst case,I pay way too much on shipping etc, just to get my stuff asap. Tom you are doing a fine job,its great to have someone as into it as you and not selling anything!

OK, its over with then. But I would like to add something and I think Baron can attest to this.. I was a HLpro Fan over Bandai even before I met those guys. Reason being is that Hlpro reminds me more of a classic Popy figure than Bandai does and I grew up Popy.. I just like that look and feel. Im not all that into really realistic and high-tech looking stuff. I like stuff from "the good old days"

Tom its really surprising you dont collect vintage, have you thought of going that way with your collecting?

I DO collect vintage.. I just don't have any good ones right now. Best vintage I have is a 1st edition Great Mazinger Jumbo.. then I have a 2nd edition that needs a chest piece and condor. Then I got a vintage popy Bazoler that was missing so much stuff I turned it into a custom re-paint and I have a vintage mini Grendy Shougn Warrior. Whenever I come across a vintage in good condition in the box, the price is way more than I can put into my budget. You gotta remember, Im juggling 2 Buell motorcycles and an extensive club-life and huge wardrobe of goth clothing ha ha
whenever I get some money in my pocket Im like "you know, that Hlpro thing is just sitting there... or should I go ahead and get that SOC Getter Dragon?"... you know how it is.. all that temptation out there can pull you away from the vintage market....

Thanks Tom. I saw HLPRO mentioned on their FB that the boat should be arriving to the US as of yesterday and Europe should be getting within 10 days. It's so weird that the boat reached the US before Europe lol...It's fine by me.
