From what you guys have commented about this line, especially Gin Gin and the groundwork this specimen has laid and HLPro's success with this project, THAT is what I would genuinely call SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. zozo-mag

Yeah this is just the "prototype" of the next phase in Metaltech.. ZMazinger is going to involve even more detail. More "complication" without being too "busy".

He looks awesome sculpt wise. I thought his paint job would pop more. In the pictures it looks more muted than I expected. Could be the lighting since Baron was trying to get the info to us quickly.
Where can you get Gin Gin? Seems difficult to land these figures.

shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.688859/it.A/id.271/.fPBM starts shipping Monday and from what Ive heard some of the other stores are either sold out or they are gonna wait unitl PBM starts shipping. I am sure the color is what they wanted and there was a logic behind it. If you don't like that color I am sure they will do another special color variant. probably a "Manga" version. They aren't going to let those molds go to waste, none of the companies do. This is only the second humanoid figure in the line.. they did a really good job from what Im seeing. Another good thing I was told is that HLpro doesn't like the results that some other companies get when they use "standardized" articulation parts..they said each figure should be made of totally purpose built components to keep the sculpt as good as possible. What that means is that articulation is going to depend a lot on the character and the sculpt. So, there is always a chance that some of the future characters will be able to have even more articulation. So, articulation is going to depend on how the character was drawn.. they want to stay real close to the drawings..

The surprise of this set is the TFO its DIECAST TOO!!! Like a solid thick coin, very nice! No complains but I hoped that the secret bonus would be the spin saucers. I feel my MT Grendizer is missing them. I already have 2 TFOs, the GX-04s and PVC HL PRO minifo set. Sigh!

So, HLPro is not going to improve the Metaltechs' articulation? Oh, that is not good! Not good at all!!! Action Figures can look good all day long, but if they can't strike decent action poses, then might as well just get statues of the characters. I have to say that I'm really disappointed to hear that HLPro wants to somehow follow Popy's 1970's articulation engineering, instead of trying to out-do Bandai and CM's. Sad, sad, sad... }|

Buser PBM is supposed to start shipping this week..
Dammage 7. don't expect anything more for MT01V1, "that's a wrap" on that. V2 is a total "re-boot"
MazingerZ Hlpro cannot go the hyper articulation route and keep the 70's style sculpt. If they did so, they would look like SRCs.. that type of articulation tends to force you to alter things away from the original drawings like what happened to SRC Grendizer, he looks that way because he was built on standardized SRC joints. Now, if HLpro decides to make a very modern character, then yes MAYBE the they may allow for hyper articulation but from what I was told, they want to let Bandai have that feature while Hlpro keeps "70s style charm" in the sculpts to keep them more "Go Nagai" looking. That being said, Gin Gin has a superior sculpt compared to MT01 AND has the same level of articulation. What holds Gin Gin back is his Shields, it would be hard to do much with big shields built into your forearms but that's the way he was drawn and any figure that could be made of this character is going to encounter the same problem.

I think they screwed up on the Head Sculpt when it comes to the eyes and horns of Gin Gin (I'll show a comparison pic once I get it in hand), but hey I'll take any Grendizer's enemy they produce. It's not like other companies are doing anything with Robot's villains, and that's why I'm kinda disappointed with the next few MTs which means we may see new villains in 2022

Based on what HLpro is saying and the mood over there, enemies wont stop coming. Ive got the feeling they want to expand the line with some more heroes first... that will open up the possibilities for enemies from other series' .. they are also working on some other stuff ... I went back and looked at episode 7, Gin Gin's eyes and horns are different every time they show him just depending on his expression.. in the beginning of the episode looks like a totally different face, his eyes are big and kind of round, at the end when hes fighting Grendizer his eyes narrow down to slits almost.. they gave him an "expression" when they drew him.

Just glancing through in hand pictures of Gin again, he looks a little "cheap". Guess it's just the paint. Wish the price point on these was more reasonable.

That's fair. I didn't go through the review really, like I said just glanced at the pics so far. Ultimately tho, for a good pieces over $100, I would have expected some more accessories, even tho I don't know what those would be lol.
Really I just wish this was more like grendizer and cost $60. I don't understand why it's so much more expensive. Except I guess they don't except to sell as many as grendizer and need to charge more to make it worth producing.

Low expectations of sale maybe a good reason for the high price. Hero bots like grendizer is a different story altogether.
Hope its more readily available. To me if they make it harder for me to purchase the more I shy away and not buy. (3a toys)
Or maybe it's just a complete bad distribution practice.

Buster, I don't know what youre talking about.. PBM is shipping them right now.As, for sale volume, HLpro sold everyone of them that they made already the dealers are the one that are selling them now. as for accessories he comes with two sets of hands, a die cast TFO and all the parts to transform him into the flying saucer(transform may not be the right term for it, lets say "Make") and a stand that can display that flying saucer in two different modes. They may make weapon effects for him later on and give them as bonus Items in future releases.. no telling
