I think I've had these ES Getters on preorder for over a year now...

THANK goodness I had my preorder done forever ago, now only thing is finding the cash to pay for it. Guess Ill have to start looking for stuff to sell.
Like Chen said, there are Koto kits that make good alternatives. I got an Ingram and a Griffon and they are really nice figures and pass for full blown figures when displayed. Best thing is, you dont have to paint them!

They DO exist! I'm holding Getter 1 in my hands right now.
Diecast content is pretty good. The lower legs, thighs, torso and chest are all metal, and there's ratchet joints in the shoulders, elbows, and knees so he's pretty stable all around. The head feels a bit creaky and plasticy - a side effect from being hollowed out for the lighting effect, I'd guess. Batteries aren't included so I haven't tested the light-up feature yet.
He's got a lot of joint flex in his chest and neck, which is good considering that huge noggin is one of his main means of expressing himself - he's got a double jointed neck (one under the chin, one at the top of the chest) and the whole cowling section that the arms are attached to is on a ball joint as well.
Overall I'd say he compares favorably to the ES Gokin Goshogun (I never got Jeeg), though he's not quite as impressive due to his smaller stature.
His cape is pretty cool, too, and even though it sticks almost straight back out behind him (I may not be able to display him on my shelf wearing it), it doesn't unbalance him in the slightest thanks to all that weight in his body and legs - nicely done!
Pics may be forthcoming over the weekend as I should have plenty of free time on my hands.

I was planning on only getting Getter 1, but I might pick up 2 and 3 next month, assuming they're just as nice. Now we just need Bandai to release more SDi Figures to go with it

I'm very disspointed with the size of the Getter 1 I thought it would be as tall as Goshogun. Mine is on pre order .
Do the eyes even light up?
I really liked Gordam and Goshogun and was really hoping this was gonna knock these others out of the park . well that didn't happen for me. I dont think I'll continue with this line. This may be my last ES Fewture figure. Gold lightan was on my list , now I'm not sure.

There's a battery case in the head and a switch, so the eyes are supposed to light up, yes, but as I don't have any batteries the right size I haven't actually tested the lighting function.
The figures are different sizes, but they're also different prices, so it's fitting. Goshogun was a fair amount higher priced than the Getters are.

It didn't come with batteries?
I think he looks pretty good. I've got him on order but amiami hasn't asked for payment yet. Guess they're busy
Also, I think it would've been cool if he had a full mantle.

No, although having just pulled a bunch of leaking, corroded batteries out of a bunch of Sakura Wars Koubu's, I don't see that as a fully bad thing - I'm going to have to figure out what kind of batteries he takes, though. It's smaller than the more typical LR44 watch battery, looking a lot like a mini battery that one would find in a hearing aid or some such ...
There's no instructions (that I can read, anyway) that specify what kind of batteries they'd be, either.
I'd love a Ryoma Getter in this style.
