So I got the BTS-03 add on kit today. After I ordered from BBTS I noticed it had an exclusive blue rifle. I was mad at first since I wanted the black rifle, but I found once I got it, that it came with an extra rifle. So there is a black and blue rifle from bts. The only real reason I bought this kit was for the matrix. I hated being able to see through prime's chest, and had been considering the fansproject matrix to try and adapt and use in my G1 Prime. So for the price, I was already happy just for the matrix. It all looks decent out of the box, but its not perfect. It was very hard to close the matrix. I was afraid I was going to break it. Also the hands are useless to me. The guns are ok, but I will likely use them for another robot as I still like the g1 gun. The jetpack is better in person than in the pics. I did not like it at first since I thought it made it bulky, but its not bad. I don't care about the axe. Never really liked the hand axe on any prime anyway. So when it boils down to it, you get a decent set of accessories for a fair price. Even if it was just the matrix, I still might have bought this. See pics below.   |

Oh, I like being able to see the matrix. I did not like seeing the wall behind him through his chest before I got it.

The Matrix and the jet pack aren't bad but the rifle is horrific. The original it's far superior. Now we have one more third party company for add-ons and their first project looks good! www.gear4toys.com/ |

Finally, the G1 Ironhide and Ratchet aren't as hideous. Still isn't enough to convince me to buy that old G1 mold. Everytime I see that mold, it makes me mad. Whoever design it or approved it must not of been watching the cartoon or seen a picture of Ironhide or Ratchet. A cutout cardboard piece for the head? Really, that is the best you can come up with? And the majority of the van is a stationary gun? Don't remember seeing either Ratchet or Ironhide having a stationary turret gun.

The figures were made long before the cartoon in the Diaclone line. They were then carried over to TF's. My guess is the toy designs were so far from the rest of the line that the artists redesigned them to look good with the rest of the group. Don't get me wrong, I hate the design and agree that it does not belong. However, I fault the ones that decided to bring them over to TF's - not the original toy designers. They were trying to make a toy that worked in the Diaclone Universe and not the TF Universe. |

Yeah, in fact the original figures weren't even meant to be humanoid robots, they were supposed to be armor for the little Diaclone figures to walk around in.

I like head A, but, these head has no light piping. If it is priced cheaper than the figure, I will probably get it.

You know, I really want to like it. I just don't. I like parts of it, just not enough to spend $80. I think my expectations are too high after having the Bruticus and City Comander upgrades.

I liked the way it look when they first teased us with the pictures of the resin prototypes. I think it is the colors or lack of colors that is turning people off on this. I started kinda disliking this when they first showed the molded color plastic without the paint apps. Then when the first painted prototypes came out, I didnly like the face as much. Perhaps if they didn't use all black for the feet. Or perhaps if they added more colors to the face. Still, I will see it personally in hand. I wonder if they delay this or if I should get a surprise during christmas.

I felt that way about a lot of transformers in the past. Once colored, they looked horrid. I do prefer the black version to this, and if it was not sold out I would have likely gotten it, even to put on the orange hot rod. I did some photoshipping and it looked decent. I would just have to repaint the purple bits. |

The head would be good if it looked like the one in the comic book instruction that it came with like this pictures that I came across from ACTOYS forum.  There are some pictures where the head and face did look okay. I still believe that this has to look a lot better in person than what we are seeing in these pictures. |
