Game looks tight! However, G4 gave it some guff, being an anime themed title. Also said that the learning curve for moves was a bit steep. I'm on this one though. Just can't wait to get my hands on some 2D HD goodness. Plus the intro is pretty awesome. Nicely animated and a great J-pop tune! Dayum! Can't wait to get any next gen system. This is killing me here!

I received this game last Thursday and have been playing it a bit on the 360. I ordered it from Gamestop because it came with a extra art magazine, they call it a book, but it's just a magazine with so info, and some sketches. It's kind of like a blown up game manual. I won my first rank match and haven't played anymore online match until I get how to play this. The learning curve isn't all that hard, if you know how to play street fighter, or guilty gear, then you can play this. Combo system is fun, I just learn how to do the juggling combo using Ragna. A lot of the moves include multiple Hadoken like attacks, and the supers are easy to pull of.

I just read somewhere that the distribution in Canada is all messed-up (and that's not even counting the English-French packaging requirement in Quebec). But apparently if you didn't pre-order, Blazblue is hard to come by. Also, it doesn't help that 2D fighters simply aren't popular enough for big-box stores to stock. Wish me luck finding one.

Man, that's some crazy ol' BS. I was reading a thread about that on Shroryuken. Hopefully some stores will get some in for the LE the next few weeks. Hopefully Best Buy still has some in by the time I'm able to get paid next pay period. Wonder why the LE is listed as the same price as the regular.

The only one available now is the Limit Edition, and I really don't know if any other place has it other than Gamestop. I only knew about this game because they were promoting it at Fanime.con and I picked up a flyer there. They told me about the extra art book exclusive to gamestop. Limited edition comes with a strategy video that teaches you expert combos for all characters and such, and two soundtrack CD's. The regular edition is schedule to come out later this month, I guess once the LE runs out. For now, you can't get the regular edition.

Of course. Forgot about that release format. LE first then the regular the end of month or so. @supergetterv- So did you preorder to get the artbook? Saw what that was fetching for price-wise on ebay and thought it was crazy for what you get. I just found some hi-res scans and called it good! LOL! Fantastic pics though! Incidentally, I went ahead and picked up a copy of the PS3 LEs at my local Best Buy, because I don't trust the stock levels. I think I got one of the last ones on the shelf. Plus I had a gift card I've been needing to use, so it was a bit cheaper.

Yeah, you have to preorder from gamestop.com, because I guess corporate just didn't trust the local stores with it. I wouldn't call it a book, just because it wasn't hard cover and it's just around 30 pages with some sketches. Oversize instruction manual with a nice cover. There was a limited supply so that why it is going for a lot on ebay.

I just picked up my copy Of BlazBlue (PS3) yesterday, and the character designs are phenomenal. The great thing about 2D fighters is that the visuals/graphics age very well when compared to their 3D counterparts. I have not tried online yet, but from what I read in the manual, the lobby/observer/record system looks like it is well-designed... You can even record/save matches or even download other players' saved matches!

If you ever want to get good at any game, You must play online and against as many different players as possible. PS3 has free online play. The problem with this is that records don't really matter because you can easily make multiple accounts and play them. Kinda makes it non balance because each time you play, it will start you off with very little battlepoints, like in SFIV. So sometimes you think you are playing against someone new and doesn't have a lot of experience, and only get beat badly because the person is just playing with a new account. This also happens on the 360 because some people don't want to pay the monthly or yearly fee. So they create a new account, get the free trial month and then cancel the account. But you can only do so many accounts on a 360 before that stop working.

hmmmm well i think you already have to have a good level of skill to even begin playing online. most people online are seasoned and dont even give you a chance to do anything. happesn in Soul cal all the time!

Arggh! OK. Got a PS3 and am sucking hard at BB. I can pick up the basic moves and some of the specials. But the Distortion Drives....Can't execute them for some reason. after finishing the basic d-pad drive attack button (x) nothing happens. What the hell!? LOL! Oh well. Back to the training guide.
Very fun game and I highly recommend it! Have a great weekend all!

Picked it up last weekend, and I've played around with it a little. It's very fun, but it's going to be a long time before I feel like I know what I'm doing. But I guess that means I'll get my money's worth

But I guess that means I'll get my money's worth Great game isn't it!? Yeah, you definitely will I think. I've been doing quite a bit of training mode. But the game seems to really get challenging in Network mode. Finally figured out Hakumen's Distortion Drive. And unlocked his Astral Finish. Love the story mode and Arcade mode too. All modes really have quite a bit to offer so that makes me happy. Cyrano, what version did you pick up. If you have the PS3 version my screen name is shishio74.

Is the special collectors version worth it vs regular version?

Is the special collectors version worth it vs regular version? Other than the fact that they were the same retail price. Yes. It comes with a 2 CD BMG soundtrack which is great rock/metal stuff to listen to and a bonus Blu-Ray Tutorial DVD. The DVD is good for folks like me who need, well, help. I'm glad I went ahead and picked up the LE since it's either selling or sold out most places. Except ebay which is seeing stupid prices for the PS3 version at least.

My PSN is TasogareCyrano, I just sent you a friend request. It might be a little while before I get to play again though, this week is looking pretty busy with a film project I have to shoot for class. I played around with Rachel over the weekend, and I'm starting to figure things out kinda-a little-maybe. The horrible amount of time I spent continuing against Hakumen (on Normal!) tells me I still have a long way to go.
