wait that's not play arts?? i thought they were the ones making all the MSG figures?? It's getting made by 3A Toys. They do urban vinyl stuff. One of their main toy lines is World War Robot by Ashley Wood. I still need to get a Non de Plume some day! www.threeaonline.com/MG Ray and Rex are going to be nothing short of jaw dropping as is most of 3As stuff. As well as expensive. In add'l news, it looks like the main ship from Ikaruga (DC) is getting a release this summer 6/11. It's 1/144 by Kotobukiya! This is my favorite STG of all time. Came out for the Dream Cast (JP), Game Cube (US) and most recently XBLA has a crispy HD version. I still prefer my DC version. I'll have to plunk down on the 360 version if I ever get one. Not sure which version of the game this is, but this gives you an idea of the gameplay. I can't recommend this enough though! www.youtube.co/watch?v=LES0bAg0dBkreggiocomics.blogspot.com/2011/02/preview-1144-hitekkai-ikaruga-white.html

it looks like it is based directly on the wonderfest resin kit they made a few years back that means it will be small, i used to own it it was 1/144, a painted version like this will be nice the original kit required a lot of masking and would take a hell of alot of work to make look like this one.

thanks for the info recca. I have seen their figures here and their, honestly the prices arent as bad as i thought they would be. The actually make some very cool artistic looking figures... they are poseable right??

The actually make some very cool artistic looking figures... they are poseable right?? Yes, they're all poseable. Ashley wood is pretty insistent about that point. Rex and Ray, unlike the fairly diminutive play arts Metal gears, are slated to be "furniture sized"; One can reasonably expect them to be in the region of $400-500 when they come out.

I have their medic bramble and the toy poses and has articulated poses. It also has the best paint job of any toy I own. It is not super easy to pose the vinyl and I would not suggest too much of it for sake of the paint. All in all 3a make display pieces.

So I got my Valken in the mail. Its not bad. Its a bit hard to manage though. The joints are interesting. They sort of remind me of figma joints, but they do not hold too strong. I had to take a jewelry pliers to press it to stay. Its also a bit back heavy due to the pack. It would have been better suited to give this figure a stand for flying mode since this is the jetpack. I do like the design, but its sort of get your pose, and leave it sit type figure. This one is Tomy Takara, I think I prefer the production by my other figures which I think is a mix of Kaiyodo and kotobukiya (I think). The rest of the images are most of my mini mecha army. Many of these designs are some of my favorite mecha designs. I would love to see more of these type of designs made larger. very nice collection coldiron , i realy want that wanzer T_T

Wave is re-issuing the WHAM Tetsukyojin in a metallic paint scheme this coming september: Maybe not super-exciting news for anyone else, but I was always kind of bummer that I missed out on it and bought the CM's version instead (for its metallic paint scheme, no less), which I didn't end up keeping and regretted buying ever since.

Actual info on the quality of the toy have been painfully sparse, but from what I gather it's REALLY REALLY GOOD. A lot of people who bought it called it their toy of the year, but never seemed to elucidate why. I don't plan on missing out on it, thus finding out for myself.

That WHAM Tetsukyojin looks pretty sweet, but it won't be cheap by any stretch of the imagination. It was close to $300 2-3 years ago and with yen prices rising I can just imagine how expensive the re-issue will be.
