Made of high quality plastic with a unique metallic shine in a collectible retro carrying case. (They said it's limited to 1000pcs only). A chance for those who missed the masterpiece version (like me). I guess this is a better alternative than the previously released plastic. 40th Annual San Diego Comic Con

No real demand for Golion in Japan, Voltron may be a pioneer of Japanese Anime turned into a North American cartoon here but in Japan not so much and even less demand for Dairugger/Vehicle Voltron.

So this is a non transforming Voltron?
I just saw a masterpiece Voltron at a store recently. I think it was a masterpiece though. It was fairly expensive. I had the old one NIB and sold it to a member here a while back.
I think a revoltech Voltron or the like would be cool. Something a little more dynamic looking. I loved the voltron toy as a kid, but was not allowed to watch the cartoon due to my religious family.

Yep. I made up for all the toys my mom threw away when I was a kid 10 fold. I still need to go find the guy who wrote "Turmoil in the Toy Box" and punch him in the throat.

... I loved the voltron toy as a kid, but was not allowed to watch the cartoon due to my religious family. really? you should have showed them that he has a cross on his chest! this metallic version is identical to the standard toynami gift set aside from the new coloration. compared to the masterpiece, the plastics are identical except that the lion bodies are metal on the masterpiece making for a much heavier toy. Also the plastic versions do not have chromed legs, they are painted silver... ...HOWEVER The Reebok edition Voltron is plastic but DOES have chromed lion legs. I've only been able to get the green lion so far. lost auction for another variation on this toynami toy by a dollar... it was the plastic version with chromed parts BUT it came in a plastic tray that held him in tansformed mode instead of individual lions.. never saw this variation before or after.. maybe it was promotional... but I need it in my collection
