Sure, there's been the revoltech and a rather limited DMC1 Dante figure, but there's been a lack of really high end figures from Capcom's shooty-stabby DMC games. No longer! (and also Bayonetta) I'd be over the moon if these were DMC3 figures (Mmm. Virgil and Lady), but still it's nice to see some attention being given to everyone's favorite white-haired demon hunter. Dunno when there'll be an official announcement on this, but I'd imagine they'd be in the Play Arts Kai line, which would mean a pricetag of around $45-55 dollars and a height of about 10". Wow, that's actually surprising for two reasons. One that Capcom even cares enough to have figures made for a series so "old", and two that Koto is now using the "Arts" tag on products that don't belong to Square Enix (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Fullmetal Alchemist). Well, Capcom certainly did pick the right company to do them, they look amazing!

Is it actually Kotobukiya who does the sculpting and design, then? Because the rights to the "arts" line is 100% owned by Squeenix (you can even see their name on the placard in the first image). As far as I can tell, the only thing that the boxes ever say about the designers is that they're sculpted by "OOPARTS". It's a little odd seeing Squeenix's name on Capcom stuff, it's true!

I think Koto does the design and distribution while I guess OOPARTS would be the sculptor (like Yamaguchi sculpts for Kaiyodo) with the whole thing done under SE's watchful eye. For these to be under the SE banner they must have been the ones who negotiated with Capcom, Koto would have just made figures in another style. SE is turning into quite the powerhouse, aside from their games they also distribute a ton of manga in Japan (Fullmetal Alchemist being their biggest one), produce anime, distribute music, and does occasional licensed cosplay items, jewelry, keychains and whatnot. I guess going further into figure development isn't all that surprising.

and is good news too, after all they could only do so much with FF and KH chars.... they would have to branch out eventually......

Well, they have been neglecting Dragon Quest and they seem to be missing the chance to do Dissidia (just one Trading Arts set so far), and who wouldn't want Chrono Trigger figures?
But SE doing two Capcom titles certainly does open the door for some other interesting opportunities. I wouldn't mind a Strider or Jin figure in the Play Arts Kai style

There's nothing actually stoping that from happening. Usually different scales are different licenses. Just because Koto/SE are doing action figures doesn't mean they can automatically do 12" figures too.

I hope they'll be doing some Street Fighter figures to coincide with Super Street Fighter 4... since the Revoltech set went belly up, it'd be nice to see a new set. Don't much care for the NECA or SOTA line ups.

hmm Strider!! seems they stick with human figures so no megman for me huh lol, in any case some chars should be stick in the 5" frame if you ask me. I also dont really care for 1/6 size, it just makes toys into dolls, and where is the fun in that! they just loose all thier action figureness when they go to that scale I feel.
Oh yea chrono trigger, and DQ!! hmm i wonder y none of those as well as dissda........ hmmm seems like a missed opportunity if you ask me.
But yeah, I hope these guys come with some sweet accessories but that doesnt seem to be the case with play arts

Yeah, you probably wont be getting too many guns or swords with Dante, but he should come with the basics (Ebony and Ivory, Rebellion). Nero doesn't have much in the way of accessories he COULD come with other than the Red Queen and Blue Rose, other than maybe some extra "etherial hand" bits.

what about the katana?? he has to have at least that... hell thats what pretty much pushed the DMC4's story!
It sucks though because there are quite a few accessories they could do with these guys especially the guantlents!
It would be cool if they had devil version of Dante though.

Never Liked Nero. Not in the Game or as a Figure. But for Dante he is always the Stylish dresser. especially in DMC 4. I admit the figure is an extreme Piece of Work, but I is not the Dante in DMC 4 100 % Thanx
