Found the latest Super Legends figures at Walmart Wednesday morning. It was a surprise find, it seemed like the series died a quick death with RPM getting very few new releases. The first two released in the RPM style are Super Samurai Green Ranger and Rescue Titanium Ranger, I was able to get the Green Ranger. Incidentally, also spotted the newest wave of RPM figures including the new Gold and Silver Rangers.
Here's some pics:
Front of the Package, looks about the same as the figures from the Jungle Fury run of Super Legends. The MMPR logo is replaced by the respective logo of the character.
New back shows off new figures including the Super Legends Titanium Ranger and the Mammoth, Triceratops, and T-Rex ranger.
Sculpting is nice with a realistic physique rather than the superhero body type of previous PR figures. On the down side it's slightly smaller than the previous Super Legends or the upcoming new MMPR figures.
Paint is good overall, but they still need to use more of it. Not painting weapons is a very '90s thing to do and they continue to use those black joints in the shoulder and didn't paint the elbows. At least the paint on there is cleanly done.
Group shot. Samurai Green Ranger is slightly shorter than the previous ones. It's not horrible, but it's noticeable.
And then there's this guy. Seems they skimped on the Ranger paint so they could give him 4 different paint colors (silver plastic, two shades of brown, white, and black).
Over all it's a great figure for only $7, if you can find them. They're only one each per case chase figures after all. I've also heard that there's a variant of the Green Ranger with his mask spun the other way and gold armor.
