Looks like the pre-order date is up. Hope all of you who wanted one ordered on time. I'm sure there will be plenty around on the secondary price gouging market.
I still get the chills every time I look at this freakin cool figure. I really hope that Bandai sees it worth their time to make more of the Tekkaman figure. Even though he wasn't all that effective, I would still love to have a SOL Tekkaman.

uhh its gonna be a web exclusive.............. bandai ba$t*rds! I honestly don't understand the hatred for Bandai releasing products on their website. Of course as a non-Japan residence it makes getting one much harder and more expensive but from Bandai's point of view it makes total sense. You sell straight to the consumer and cut out the middle man and increase profits, the JAPANESE consumer who this toys are targeted at. The fact that there are fans outside of Japan for certain properties is a nice bonus but hardly the driving force in make these things. If there's anyone to blame, blame Bandai America for not releasing certain figures here (copyright approved ones) because they don't think there's a market, and ultimately the fans or lack of them who just don't buy enough to justify to bring these things over here.

Or just ship straight from their Japan site to America. All they need to do is set up a web form in English. It doesn't seem like all that much work where they already have the forms set up in Japanese.

Probably can't do to some copy right issues like Danguard Ace since there have been quite a few different companies that had the rights to license the Tekkaman stuff. Plus why would they, Bandai will probably sell all they can make in the Japanese market alone.

Were not mad because of Bandai's marketing scheme to make more profits. Were just mad because we have to pay significantly more than what the item should cost. I could care less how Bandai markets the thing, as long were able to get the figures without jumping through some hoops. Furthermore, its kinda of irritating to see someone like the main villain (Tekkaman Evil)from the show turn up to be an exclusive, instead of a wide release or in the blastor's case the upgrade as an exclusive. Its as if Bandai mass releases a MG Freedom gundam and decides to release the MG Strike Freedom as a web exclusive or in Evil's case it would be like Takara releasing Optimus without a Megatron. If Bandai's making profits good for them, will I continue too buy their figures (of course), but this limited stuff is increasing and is making me less and less interested in this hobby if I have to throw more wads of cash for a similar figure which should cost the same its mass released version.

I agree 100%. In this Tekkaman Evil case, I am not a big fan of him. Since I have the Tekkaman already, and he is the main villain - I would still consider getting him if it is a 'normal' shop item. However, I just don't think he worth the 'extra' money now...

I never caught the show - my exposure is limited to toys and SRW - but Tekkaman Evil looks pretty spiffy. I'd get it... if Bandai would stop with this web exclusive crap. =[

Your missing the point, most web exclusive are NOT limited it's like buying from Amazon and quite easy for Japanese residents to purchase. The point is your NOT the intended market for these figures, neither am I. Bandai doesn't care if a non-Japanese resident is angry and doesn't buy a web exclusive from them because you were never meant to buy one in the first place. The truth is we've had it pretty good in that we can get most items we want but the fact is we're all just outsiders looking in on a Japanese industry. The fact that the Toynami deal to distribute SOC's and the like has basically been a complete disaster proves to Bandai even more that their main focus and priority is the Japanese consumer. Also here's a little lesson for you, ALL SOC's, Spec, Fewture, Aoshima whatever is LIMITED to the Japanese market. The fact we can buy most of it through secondary markets/stores like HLJ or BBTS is a nice convenience but it was really never intended for buyers outside of Japan. You just have to accept the fact that if your in a hobby that is based on a foreign cultures hobby and IMPORT items there are gonna be times when the fact that your a outsider will make getting certain items just harder.

While I agree with Chen 100%, there is one thing that confuses me about Bandai; If they make their products solely for the Japanese market, why do they print the names of the figures in ENGLISH (on their boxes) The old POPY boxes were all japanese... so why the english? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to have an all japanese text? I just wonder.... }D
