Aside form some serious problems I need to resolve with the seller about my new Legioss AFC-01Z, the toy itself is an astounding FAIL with a huge capital F. I dont know what AFC stands for but I know what the "F" stands for because that was the first word out of my mouth. The figure turned out to be a broken returned item. The previous "owner" broke it, decided to pretend he knew how to repair it, returned it and then the store sold it to me as new. It was for a gift to top it all off.
It is an exercise in frustration. The person, glued practically the entire right leg together so all the little gimmicks are non existent. So as if that wasnt frustrating enough, the figure itself S**KS. I have a Gakken that completely rules over it in quality. This feels like a bootleg of a bootleg.
If you want to experience ownership of this figure, grab some old brittle plastic robot kits, shove them in a bag, smash the bag with a hammer then try and transform the remains. That will give you an idea of how it is to handle this figure. I know its not Aoshimas fault because I saw Toynami's name on the wing. Its a sad day in Chachi's world.
Yes I referred to myself in 3rd person. I think I should make a video review of me just throwing it off a roof. Then peeing on it.
Yes aside from it being broken form the start, it really is not up to our standards. . eww

The Aoshima (and Toynami) Legioss figures have some of the most epically atrocious QC of any toy release in history. I'm sorry that you had the misfortune of buying one.

The factory QC may explain the shoddy qulaity of the rest of the figure but the leg is very clearly cracked and repaired. Ive had a chance to look at it some more and I realized the factory tape has been removed and in its place is either glue or the gloss has come off the box...and the tape marks span ACROSS the box as if it was taped up a lot. The arm tab is broken off on one arm so the arm wont stay in shortened position while in fighter mode. Whoever glued the cracked leg did such a sloppy job that the fumes from the crazy glue stained the whole leg and all the little flaps on the legs had been glued because of the severity of the cracks.

And again, I stand by my statement that they may very well have done that at the factory >.<. There have been horror stories about the Aoshima and Toynami Legioss figures like you wouldn't believe ... stuff glued together, shattered, snapped in half, disintegrated in the box, double and triple taping, paint gouges... Of course, it may well have been a return (there were enough people who said "@#(%*^ this" and sent them back to the stores), but my point was that the QC was really SO BAD that you could expect this sort of thing from a case fresh box...

I've even heard that the Aoshima factory rushed out the Legioss so fast they didn't wait for the paint to dry so that's why some of the parts are stuck because the paint fused those parts together. Crazy.

I can understand touchups, my fewture mazinger has a bunch and half a foot is painted with a brush but to take a broken toy, glue it together and send it out factory fresh? That's not even QC, that's NC... no control.
Well it seems that the slopiness of this thing is widely known but I hope this helps anyone who didn't know that they should stay away.

I feel for ya man. My Aoshima Legioss was such a catastrophe that for educational purposes I took a dozen photos to document all the different problems. It was by far the poorest work I've ever seen on a toy, and that includes bootlegs. Broken parts, misassembled parts, chips, scratches, parts glued together crooked, parts not fully tooled. Lucky for me I bought it from BBTS and when I told them about it they offered me a full refund.
Also I should mention that I bought mine right when it was newly released, so there was no chance it could have been pre-owned and tinkered with. Aoshima, for whatever reasons, laid this immense turd themselves (well, after swallowing and digesting Toynami's turd). There were parts on mine that looked identical to the photo above.

hrm, I can't figure out how to post more than one photo at a time through the boards. Forgive my multiple posts, but it's in the name of science and education!

Yeah, that's the stuff.
For all of its flaws, one thing you can always say about the CM's Legioss: It's not the Aoshima/Toynami Legioss.

Yeah, I think getting this thing shortly before the CM's kind of helped me overlook most of the design flaws on the CMs. Design issues aside, the QC and build quality on the CMs is the polar opposite of the Aoshima.

thanks for all the pics, I have all those same problems too aside from the broken stuff, and yes some of the molding is WORSE than bootlegs. This is something that should not have been released, I guess they stuck their necks in too far to pull out of selling them. I noticed they photoshopped the horrible panel gaps on the pictures on the box!! It was a bad photoshop, they used the clone tool pretty sloppily. I guess that is proof that they even noticed. They couldnt even get a decent example for use on the box photos! Unbelieveable

Chachi,
Are you going to do a Youtube review on this horror? ;D
Btw, the SPEC Dragonar review was well done.
