Breaking news: Reports of an unidentified flying object keep pouring in from a small Japanese fishing village on Kunisaki Peninsula, Oita Prefecture, Japan. The UFO has been witnessed by at least twenty people in this sleepy town known for its daily catches.
Reports of unusual sightings are not uncommon in this region, which is located near a military base. However, what makes this incident especially curious is the conflicting reports on the description of the UFO. Akemi Kusawa, an elderly grandmother who has lived in the village her entire life, reports seeing a round red object with blue wings. "No", a young girl named Miyako Asahi states, "it was definitely white with blue wings." Another gentleman, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, averred that it was yellow with chrome wings.
Well, if they were describing Sakura's toy UFO line, they would all be correct. It seems that Sakura, who also made a robot (Zakuraman: www.robotjapan.com/Gallery/Sakura/Zakuraman/Zakuraman.asp ) and an oni ( toyboxdx.com/datafiles/data/sakura/ ), created a wide variety of color variants for their line of UFOs.
I recently picked up a red and orange one, and I already owned a red and blue one. I also had previously owned (but sold) a white and blue version. But I've seen many other variants.
I'll first start with my own collection:

The UFO can fire missiles from launchers on its wings:

Also, it has a battery-operated light up feature that is pretty cool (similar to their other diecast toys mentioned above). On this toy, the rear fin and other translucent projections through the top of the UFO glow and blink. While I originally thought that I was missing the battery cover on mine, I now believe that it never came with one.

Here are the markings on the base:

Finally, some other variants. The box itself shows yet another variant. Based on these, its possible that there are many more:

If anyone has any other color variants, I'd love to see them.
