I have to agree with those who say Hasbro sucks and here's why. First lets compare Takaras MP Prime to the Hasbro version.
Box: Takara made their box tuff and they put a picture of Prime on it standing there ready to kick butt. Hasbro's box was cheaply made and had a window that could be smashed in very easily therefore damaging the product inside. Takara put a collectors card and booklet in theirs explaining (in japanese) how MP Prime came to be along with the history of Optimus and all the toys of Optimus made up until this point. They even included a cardboard trailer just in case you wanted him to have something while he transformed in truck mode. Hasbro only included a pamphlet on how to transform Optimus and nothing else. Winner: Takara.
Optimus Figure: Takara gave us Prime with long smokestacks and no battle damage which may not be a big deal to some but for me it was because I hold Prime in a god like status. I had Hasbros Prime and Takaras and in my opinion ONLY mind you my Takara Prime was built solid as a rock which means no loose parts, no loose joints ect where as my Hasbro version had all those problems. I know all about the U.S safety laws and I would be more worried about some kid chokeing on the Megs gun or the energon axe then poking his eyes out on the stacks. Then theres the battle damage on Hasbros Prime. Battle damage? If you want to call airbrushing black paint on Prime battle damage then so be it but I call it junk. I want Prime looking healthy and in his prime so to speak not looking as if Megs just kicked the crap out of him. I sold my Hasbro Prime because I believe theres no comparison between the two, Takaras MP Prime is the real deal and is a fitting salute to 20 years of TF. Winner: Takara
Finally the Binaltech cars vs Alternator cars. Plastic vs Metal. I'll take the metal versions because I can afford them but if you cant then go Alternators. I cant be to hard on Hasbro for this one. I think quality wise Takara is the clear winner. They seem to be geared for the collector which I am. Theres alot of other reasons why I dont like Hasbro but I could go on forever and I wont. But give me Takara TF anyday.
