Question: How does this site avoid getting sued by Takara/Hasbro?! They sell bootlegs and knockoffs. How do they keep their site open like this?!

Hasbro and takara can care less because these are out of production toys. The people that gets upset are scalpers and secondary market sellers. As far as Has/Tak are concern, they have already sold all they have produce. Sure, they don't like it but going after bootlegger? You can confiscate the product and destroy them but another one will pop up. Bootlegger will not go away. You won't get much money from sueing them. You wouldn't sue people without money would you? Last question, is it worth the legal fees to litagate? |

So it seems toy companies aren't as strict as anime companies when it comes to bootlegging. But then again, you can't get a toy with a press of a button and a download software.

And yet, I see bootleg dvd everywhere I go. From anime to new feature releases. People that buys them knows that they are fakes. But those people still chooses to do so. Animes and movie blu-ray or dvds are always in production. Rarely do we see that a movie or anime dvd that is no longer available for sale. The thing is, when the actual product is still available at retail stores, that's when the company cares, because bootleggers are stealing their potential customers. For these KO transformers toys, they are no longer made and no longer sold in stores. That's why Hasbro/Takara aren't going after these sites. Again, they have already made their money on these production. Now if they decide to reissue one of these old molds and they see KO versions, then and only then will they go after these bootleggers. If anything, they will confiscate the fake and destroy them to elimate any potential competition.

ok after about 10 working days i finally got my KO MP01 from KOtoys, package was pack in a box with styrofoams (little styrofoams a pain in the @$$!!!) i didnt get the one with the box, mine came loose out of the box (coz i dont need the box after all) so they only wrap it with some styro paper (dunno what they call it) the item was OK than i expected for a KO until i found a small piece cover part missing at the back of its metal leg, i search the box and the little plastic bag that came w/ it but all i can found was styrofoams. dang i got frustrated but will try to contact KO toys and see what they can do with it. will try to post some pictures next time.

I'm surprised that a KO G1 boxed Jetfire hasn't been produced yet. The Bandai valkyrie mold has been bootlegged for years. Jetfire is a fan favorite character that many would buy up.

Here's a KO Prime I was given that I'm selling. It was fun trying to decipher the telltale marks of the box and stuff to figure out if it was real or not.  |

yup....i was looking at that one too.....although i couldn't find a good review about it....it looks nice but last time i ordered from KOtoys....it wasnt really pleasant....well what can i expect....its a KO....lol:-)

I wasn't too thrilled with my KO Shadow Commander either. But you get what you pay for. (Check my blog for my review of that one). I mean: it was so close to being accurate except, man the build quality SUCKS!
