Are they digging that thingy out again?! I was wondering why BBTS had this sudden "everything must go" sale on Macross items. Didn't know it was HG putting the pressure on though. The only thing I can think is that HG sees that they're stuck in a rut with this live-action movie project not going anywhere and in the meantime the follow-up to shadow chronicles is still MIA so they realize they've got some time on their hands. Ugh.

I think it has to do with the fact that since Toynami started making Macross toys they've under preformed due to collectors going for Japanese imports made by companies like Yamato. No one is buying their Shadow Chronicles version of Alpha or Beta figures and they need to up sales. BBTS is the only online store I can think of that operates in the US that sells Macross items. HG is just hedging their bets.

Interesting note: Robotech.com posted pre-orders for the transformable Revoltech VF-1 toys.
More interesting: the news item was posted on the RT main page the same day BBTS released their email saying they weren't allowed to sell Macross products anymore.
Hilarity ensues.

I am in Tokyo this november and I found good items :  Allmost all for half price... Tamashii VF-27B Grace O'Connor and Tornado parts are new, only Tornado missile pack is second hand, but looks brand new... I also got my hand on a brand new Device Label Broadblast for 3000 Yens and a... Classic Rodimus second hand (looks new too) to fit my FP Protector, but it's out of topic... |

I'm surprised Yamato produced this, since the 1/48 version was a shelf warmer. But I guess the completists will definitely want it in 1/60 scale. |
