is it sick for someone to buy hasbro prime 20th anniversary prime just because of the black gun.
A friend of mine already owns the takara version and a hasbro prime but with grey gun. Now he is going to order online for a higher price just to get the black gun.
I have both hasbro and takara also, but no black gun, and im content with it.

If you like the black gun too, go get it, besides the other hasbro with gray gun can still be sold.

If you can afford a second unit, why not buy the Takara version that comes with the black rifle? Its got "complete" smokestacks.

Yeah, I know. I bought it back in January.  But, mine came with a grey rifle. I'm wondering if Takara did the same change Hasbro did, where the gun was redone in black plastic. I'm hoping no, because then the wallet gods won't try to strike me with a lightning bolt. |

I am going to kitbast an ultra magnus with the hasbro.
*waits to get slugged by flying knockoffs*
Sooooo.....I will have the black gun for Prime, and the grey gun can be used to go along with Magnus.
Yes, I am planning on building a trailer for Magnus to be Ultra Magnus instead of just Magnus....gonna take a while, but I have the plans ready.

I got the Japanese Masterpiece Convoy from BBTS Yesterday and the gun is grey. Personally, I am going to paint the gun black. That new plastic fusing spraypaint works great. I have already used it to paint all my Energon weapons. To each their own, but I can't imagine paying for a second one *just* to get a different color gun. I mean, some people want to have one to dispaly in each mode and I guess that makes sense if you have the extra money. Whatever though, do what you will with your cash. Both of my Takars came with the Grey gun and the Hasbro ones came with the black gun. And yes, the black gun looks better IMHO. I much prefer the Takara model overall though (I hate the cut stacks on the Hasbro model.) Bill |

Hey, I found the Hasbro Prime at Wal Mart today on clearance for $40.00. I have the Takara version and was not even looking for another, since I normally dont ever buy doubles of anything. But there was just one left on the shelf, and that $40.00 price tag was just slapping me in the face, so I got it. The question is....... now what??

Here's what you should do, keep your takara convoy on robot mode and display the hasbro one in truck mode. That's what I plan to do when I get the takara version then I'll transform my hasbro one as a truck. The takara version just displays better in robot mode.

But hey it's your money in the end. Cheap imitation? Isn't it the same robot except for the battle damage and the shorter stacks?? I have the Hasbro version, mine came with a black gun. That's the only Optimus Prime I'll eve buy in my life, if it had arrived with a grey gun, maybe I would have painted it. I think I can understand owning two of these (one to replace the first one if it ever brakes, or to display one in each mode), but owning 4 or whatever is too much IMHO, I don't mean to offend anyone with this, but why would you want so many OPs? |
