Aw yeah. Shark face and everything. It's still kind of confused whether this will fall under the Robot Damashii or the DX line, but frankly I don't care overmuch. As long as it has strong joints, this will outshine the Yamato 1/100 version in just about every way, in my mind.

Indeed, for me this is the most exciting Macross release this year. The Konig Monster is one of my favorite mechs but even my love for the design couldn't help me love Yamato's toy. This one already looks better to me with the decals and sculpt, so hopefully everything holds together tightly and the joints are good.

So cool. Perfectly implements the practical military side and still looks awesome.

any news on the scale?
The guns are way too short. The BFGs are supposed to be VB-6's signature and now they look like a pack of cigarettes. I do love the decals, but the guns need to be longer!

Looks like it might be for transformation purposes.

Actually they're about right for the Koenig in Frontier, which deviates a bit from the old "puffy" looking lineart version.

I wonder how much it'll be and if it'll have perfect transformation. Does it have landing gear?

The Konig Monster doesn't have landing gear in the show or in any line art (it lands by transforming to destroid mode), so I doubt the toy will have any.

What is the estimated release date? Estimated price?

Bandai hasn't revealed anything about pricing or release date yet. They haven't even said exactly what scale or line it will be in so it's hard to estimate or guess how much it will cost. It seems to be smaller than 1/100, but that may have changed. If it's 1/100 and in the DX line, I would expect a price similar to the Quarter, pushing $200. Any other guess of scale and price would be less than that. I'll make a wide guess of the price being between $100 and $200. And just for fun, I'm going to make an exact guess of scale and price: 1/144 scale, $150

US$105). About the same price as the Super HCM Unicorn Gundam.

I will be very surprise (but delighted) if this becomes a DX Chogokin release AND cost 9800 yen. I'm gonna get this one though! That sequence of the monster transforming while landing on the quarter in MF just had me sold.

Maybe they'll say nuts to both of those and stick it in the Hi-Metal line.

Oh god yes please thank you Bandai, may I have another? Also, apparently the toy has made the jump to the DX line, so price will probably be ~$200.

It's amazing how much nicer this one looks than Yamato's. More sculpted details, lots more tampo markings. Just a better overall sculpt I think. Hopefully it won't have any of the structural difficulties that Yamato's had, because that was really the downfall of that one. As long as this thing can lock together tightly in every mode and avoid floppy limbs, we should be good.
I'm not waiting to find out though, I'm going to sign up as a test pilot the moment this thing goes up for preorder.

I was hoping Koenig Monster would be around $100, but at the same time I have to say that I'm glad he's big.
The articulation looks decent too.
