I must get the SRC Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger, there pure awesome in everything. To bad they didnt add the jet pilder but i think there is a way, just make a cast of the pilder the figure brings and remove the wings, a bit of paint and there you have it, instant jet pilder. im thinking of making for the figures a breast fire and breat burn beam effect for both of the figures, that would be nice. XD lol
Now we need a rendition of Grendizer in SRC style and it will be perfect, altough i wouldnt mind to see a new renditon of him in SOC style first. If they do it on the SRC line then i can see the spacer as a seperate accesory like Mazinger Z's Jet Scrander.
As for Mazinkaiser SKL, its really a nice figure, im impress they decided to make the figure and release iteven before the show starts. But i was hoping for the more traditional Mazinkaser either OVA or SRW rendition. If they dont bring that kaiser version then i see this SKL version been remodel by many people.

Super Robot Chogokin Mazinger Z Box Tray Mazin Go! Mazin Blade. Breast Fire! Kyoukagata Rocket Punch. If memory serves, this came out only in one, episode 54, Styrofoam base Weapons pack The boxes are the same size, so, you know, if ever Bandai decides to roll out a gift set or a black version, they can. Scrander Cross! The Rocket effect is really a nice touch! I sorta wish the legs could go up a little higher, the pose is kinda awkward in this shot. A second left-armed Kyoukagata Rocket Punch is included in the weapons pack. Compared with Gx-01R, Gx-45 and Yamato’s Hero Collection Mazinger Z (far right). Pileder comparison Scrander Comparison Comparison with Gx-28R Xabungle. The Good-Diecast parts include: --parts of the torso(not sure about the silver mid-section) --Lower legs (not including feet) Everything else is plastic. -Scrander’s boosters are adjustable, just like on the Gx-45 -Box has a card board wrap-around, it’s a definte improvement over how Revoltech did theirs. -Added joints in the shoulders add a lot of poseabilty. -Chromed sword and Kyoukagata Rocket Punch rims. The Bad-No display base -Manual is a simple black and white leaflet. -Weapons pack smells really, really bad. I don’t know but when I opened mine the scent was very strong, not the usual “sweet PVC” smell with usual gasha figures. I guess it’s from the plastic of the “rocket effect”. The gases might turn the trays yellow after a few years? -Scrander clasp not connected to the Scrander itself. Kind of annoying really, it just sorta clings on Maz like a loose fanny pack. When you shake Mazinger it will go “click-clack”. -Maz has holes where I wish he didn’t. It’s for the Scrander and the adapter for the Soul Stage Act 5 stand (adapter is included with the toy) The Ugly-The lame styro base. I don’t see why they couldn’t have just used a clear hollow plastic rock base. As is, the painted styro sticks out sorely. Just awful. Overall, it's a decent figure (fix the loose Scrander clip and I would've loved it more), I love the poseability and great sculpting details. But I can't help but feel there's something missing (I keep imagining how it would be if it were a Gx-01R scaled full- fledged SOC figure). On a personal note, I think will definitely go selective with this line. Gold

Thanks for the review Gold. Looking at the upper arms, I could've swore they were diecast too, bummer... I figured the waist was going to be plastic, like all other Mazingers. I was 50/50 on the upper legs, but I can see why they decided to go the same way as with the GX-01 & GX-07.
How about the joints on the hips, elbows, and knees? Are they plastic as well?
Thanks!

Great review gold, I agree that the Scrander's belt should have been connected to the Scrander and not a seperate part, but i guess they wanted to retain the articulation of the figure. In the animes, Mazinger Z can still retain his movement so i think they where trying to approach that aspect, its hard but it kinda works in a sense.
The holes that Mazinger Z has at least for the Scrander should have been smaller like the one they have on the SoC. As for the other one where you connect it to the base, i guess they should done it to the Scrander instead?.
as for the stirofoam thing, i would prefer a stance so i can storage the accesories instead.
Is a great figure but as many figures it still retain certain flaws, but still a nice figure with some nice improvements.

Hi all,
Gold, many thanks again for the review. I also appreciate your effort to even place the episode where the Kyoukagata Rocket Punch was used.
Saves a lot of time searching for it in the anime.
Cheers,

Thanks guys. themazingerz, yeah, only the groin joints are diecast. I just did the cheek test, and it turns out the waist is plastic as well. Too bad. Quinjester, haha yeah, that was the first pic I did when I opened Maz up. Thanks Droutmaster, true Bandai made the clip "free" from the Scrander but I just wish it didn't jiggle that much. Yeah I agree, I wish they didn't have to use a "butt-plug" for the Soul Stage connection. As the Soul Stage usually has pincers to hold the figure in place anyway. I guess I'll have to give it a try later (no shops in Manila currently have act 5 yet). Thanks 70srfan the Kyoukagata was a somewhat relatively vague weapon in the entire series so I decided to post a clip of it for posterity. Gold

Can the thighs ROTATE a full 360?*** If so, you could rotate them so the top edge higher angles are facing back, and maybe then the leg can go up a little more for that pose. ***Otherwise, don't force it. Overall, this is an impressive and thorough review; thanks for fleshin it all out for us. Nice pics, too! I'm certain I wanna score these SRC Mazingers. For those of you who aren't familiar with seeing Mazinger-Z carrying a sword: The sword really isn't his weapon, according to his original tv series... BUT- in the OAV movie "Mazinger-Z vs Ankoku Daishogun" Mazinger was almost destroyed by the battlebeasts until Great Mazinger came to the rescue, and loaned Mazinger-Z one of his swords, so he could defend himself against a gladiator battlebeast who was armed with a sword, a net, and a spear. zozo-Magengar I sorta wish the legs could go up a little higher, the pose is kinda awkward in this shot. You can use Act 3, I did ;-) under and behind the styrofoam rock, it's almost invisible ;D Nice, I didn't notice that. Thanks for the headsup Goldorak. Magengar, nope the hips can only rotate a little, as the silver part of the torso is somewhat "sunken" into the hip section, rotation is restricted. Droutmaster, that's about as high as the legs will go. They didn't do the pull out groin joints like the Gx-45 design. The thighs go up about 45-60 degrees tops (unless I'm missing something?) I tried pulling around that area hoping for an extension joint but nothing happened and the manual doesn't indicate it either. It could do the other sword kneeling pose but it's a bit of a cheat, using the right camera angle, the Scrander clip not present, and the other knee not touching the ground. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the Pileder is a pain to attach! Due to the ball jointed neck. I just mostly let the Pileder sit there in the receptacle in the pics, LOL. ;D Gold

That's strange. I could've sworn I saw a picture somewhere that showed the leg joints "extending" a bit. I'll have to look for it, but it is a pain to do so using an iPhone. Of course, there's a good chance that Bandai decided not to use extending joints in the official release version of the figure. We saw how much it changed from the first prototype to the retail one...

One of the Japanese reviews has pictures that show some leg extension but not in the same league as the GX-45.

For me it looks pretty much like the GX-45 articulation on the legs, the only difference is that we dont need to see that horrible block piece between his leg coming out. I understand that some would like to see a better knee pose been more straight, but there physics in anime we cannot achive without compromising something else. So for me this is ok.
