Thanks for clarifying about that Raideen showcase piece, guys. I over-reacted about it... I know Bandai wouldn't be foolish to market that SRC as a final product in That condition.
Now, Bandai, hear me out: If ya ever decide to toss that Raideen SRC display figure in the trash, PLEASE CONTACT ME via PM right Here at ROBOT-JAPAN ... I'd luve to fix it up so it looks good as new, paintjob and chip repair and all. Don't offer to sell it to me at an astro-gastri-nomical price... .............just GIVE IT TO MEEEEEE!!! ;D

I'd have to agree with Droutmaster about his impression of the prototype. Sometimes a first impression of a new product can have quite an influence on customers later on. Prototypes are often more visually appealing in some ways than their final products. Here's how I also look at it: A prototype of a new toy product (in this case, the Raideen SRC. And, of course, the ol' Mazinger-Z SOC prototype) has such a unique visual appeal. I find them quite attractive even though they may appear as rough drafts or roughed up. I look at a prototype Now, and I know I'll never see it again because it might get scrapped once the final product is released (and usually much Better looking). Another example I'd like to elaborate on is the ol' Mazinger-Z SOC prototype ( we've seen pics of it most recently here at RJ)... ...I really love my GX-01R so much I will Kill for it... ...But when I saw pics of its Prototype version, I instantly committed Adultery wishing I could have That prototype instead of the GX-01R. Why? It was a Perfect prototype in my eyes; so anime-accurate; so simply detailed; it had that special "new Japanese toy on a shelf in the toy store" look that literally ripped my eyes outta my head with child-like amusement; it was so Japanese about my favorite Japanese super-robot hero; it looked deserving to be displayed in a storefront in all the Chinatowns of the world; it smelled like a giftwrapped present under my Christmas tree when I was a kid; it's colors and sculpt stood out to me. I'll never forget it... to me, that Maz SOC proto sure was one helluva perfect prototype. Now here I am looking at these SRC prototypes, and re-living that "child-in-a-Japanese-toystore" nostalgia all over again. Quite Heartwarming. zozo-Magengar true, but for me, Prototypes are the Holy Grail, even if the final product looks 10 X better i always love the prototypes. I know that since is just a prototype one cannot expect much, but at least they should have a back-up one just in case events like this where to happen or fix him a bit. But in the end i know the final product will be much more better in anyway, is just that i wish they should have taken good care of it and presented him more decent. If they don't take good care of the Prototype figures then it tells me in a way how irresponsible they are. Do you guys imagen that it was Bandai's President who let it fall , i would go and kick his ass for been irresponsible >=/.

from ngeekhiong Super Robot Chogokin Gear Fighter Dendoh - Release unconfirmed. Can anybody kindly translate the Kanji? All I can see is that it's using red, green, blue/black? and purple ink. Seem like it indicates major articulation point and features? I'm extremely worried that the triangular ornament on the base of the thighs will restrict forward movement. I hope there's an explanation about that triangular thingie on the scanned picture.

Looks nice indeed. I believe the triangular thingy can rotate (at the top thigh joint) to the rear so that the thigh can pivot forward, sideways, and in sitting positions as well. Rotate the thingy to the front, and it will block the thigh from pivoting forward so as to keep the figure standing upright and not fall over (the same way the extended kneecap is designed to do at the knees to prevent the lower legs from pivoting forward).

perhaps dendoh will have some kind of leg extension like GX-45 to give it enough room for some clearance for the triangular leg part for more articulation.

as i was expecting, Dendoh will have a gimmick to lower his leg a bit to give it some clearance.
