Got my Alteison today and I only have two problems: INSANELY TIGHT FEET I had to fiddle with them for a good few minutes to get any movement and I still haven't been able to get full movement from the ankle joint, Also my alteison has a massive paint chip on the back of his shoulder out of box which I might hit with a gundam marker eventually

i wonder if by any chance there gonna do a weapon pack for Alteisen at least for the weapon effect for the claymore. i mean we have seen some weapon packs for the mazinger brothers and the second weapon pack for them is gonna come out soon so i wonder if there gonna do one for him asll well, heck i wonder if there gonna do for everyone in the SRC line.

I personally doubt it, just the claymore shooting effect is too little package wise. If it contains the heat horn and revolver bunker effect which is already packaged with the figure then maybe it makes sense. But who knows, maybe Bandai will put more eye candy like revolver bunker shell casing being ejected and rocket blast effect with the claymore shooting effect... Now that is purchase worthy. Still resisting to buy SRC Alteisen... Gah! It's hard to do.

As I've said before the only problems I've had were a terrible looking paint chip and tight feet otherwise its a great figure but as you can expect the armor does get in the way of articulation a bit

Some Youtube reviews For Great Mazinger and Charles Review for SRC Alteisen! Alteisen looks awesome, i'm probably gonna pick him up as i doubt they will do any more SRW Mechs in the regular SOC line now, i just wish the SRC's came with Stands like the SOC's.

Man, Alteisen is stunning. I can't believe how well made he is and how much effort they put into the dynamics. Unbelievable. I can't recommend him enough.

I am very curious to see the comparison with the Unifive/Banpresto diecast one as well (which I have). From the look of it, the new one has better joints design & articulation, additional effects parts, and a slightly more updated sculpt. The Unifive/Banpresto one is slightly bigger, more diecast panels, more ratchet joints, and has the few spring-load gimmicks that the bandai omits.
Almost want to buy one to try out the SRC line, and get a better scaled Alteisen & Weissbriter(upcoming) to match my other Dengeki SRW figures better, but then I'll be buying a duplicate which I have a pretty good version of already... Would be nice to hear from someone that has both, and hear the verdict.

Mpchi nailed most of it. I can't decide which I like better. Honestly I'm right in the middle, because the differences are such key assets.
But here are some thoughts about each: -I like the paint much better on the SRC. -The Gimmicks of the Unifive are such a big plus. Most especially being the spring loaded doors and hatches. It seems small, but still very cool. - The action figure size is kind of fun, especially with how much metal and articulation it has, plus he just feels like a really solid, quality little guy. - Honestly I'm not that concerned with most of the additional articulation points of the SRC, because the stances I prefer for a bulky guy like Alteisen don't require the incredible amount of articulation the SRC version has, and for most power stances with a fair amount of action the Unifive works great.. EXCEPT the waist. I love a good rotating waist and the SRC has it. But with this said, the SRC is absolutely awesome in it's posability and range of motion. -Another reason I bought SRC Alteisen is because of the big picture. Assuming that SRC keeps making SRW figures, which it appears that way, SRC is the superior action line of figures. That being the case and where I just want a great line of SRW figures, SRC seems to be the best bet, so I'm going to go with it and hope they keep it up so I can having a matching collection of great SRW figures. -Would I get rid of my Unifive Alteisen if I decided I like the SRC better? Hell no. -Is the SRC Alteisen necessary if you already have the Unifive. No. -The Unifive Alteisen looks much better placed next to GX-46 than the SRC.

xiombarg, thanks for the quick run down. I think I'll give this SRC Alteisen a try, with Weissbriter coming in the horizon. I have most of the SRW figures I want from the Dengeki line, but having a oversized Unifive Alteisen & a tiny Weissbriter (the tiny version that came from the Limited Edition OVA DVD) keeps bugging me for years. Since it has a good discount on amiami, I'll give this a shot, since it is on par on the Unifive, if not better. Maybe this will be the version I fiddle with more, while the Unifive can sit with my other gokins in another shelf.

Very detailed thoughts xiombarg. Thanks
I haven't followed SRW in the slightest but after seeing some pics and reading your thoughts I'm very interested in the SRC Alteisen. I love well made figures and Maz and Great Maz have blown me away. Time to spend more money?

You should spend more money on the SRC Alteisen ;D The thing about Alteisen is that canon wise, it's a real robot that flirts with the super robot classification (at least according to Wikipedia). It's made out of custom parts from existing military mech unit and its ability to absorb damage is thanks to crazy thick armor that makes it one of the heaviest real robot type this side of Animedom. I like a little backstory for my collection, but even without, the SRC Alteisen is cool enough as is. I caved in... And ordered the SRC Alteisen... My wife's going to kill me if she knew I ordered the SRC Alteisen and the GX-46.

The Alteisen has a great introduction in the OG Games, as well . When you first deploy it on the field, the enemies mock it for being an old piece of lumbering junk. ... then they realize all of their bullets aren't slowing it down, or indeed, making much of an impression on it at all. It's like the real robot equivalent of the Killdozer. Stock industrial equipment that has been reinforced with twice its weight in cement and steel armor. Argh. I want mine . I'm debating asking amiami to just ship it now and not bothering to wait and see if the ES Gokin Getters come into stock this month, as quite frankly I doubt they will.

Ah HA! So, That explains why Altie has that Jackhammer bit in his right arm (that thing that looks like a nail)... ...he's a rather "rough-trade" mecha, built for raw gutsy battles on the ground in all terrains urban and boonie. I like him. He seems iconic for the SRW games indeed. ;D zozo-Magengar Very detailed thoughts xiombarg. Alteisen does have a good background story. Even its name means "Old Steel", almost like "old junk metal". But its Revolver Stake, while not a very realistic/practical weapon, is a pretty cool anime gimmick for a robot. And yeah, a real robot that fights like a super robot is definitely Alteisen's charm.

I think there's a youtube video from the OG OVA (sorry, no link, using extra slow speed Internet) that shows in the early scene the Alteisen just basically took a barrage of missiles like it's nothing. Can't wait to display my Alteisen with Mazinger Z... Super Alloy Z Vs a whole bunch of sheet metals piled on top of each other ;D
