Beautiful, but not worth the premium. I'm expecting so much more for a limited release, but the photo review just doesn't do it. Movement range wise, it seems that SRC Mazinger Z is still king, and I'm expecting more gimmick for the asking price (near US$100). Still good though, but definitely passing.

Well, it comes with a dvd that is selling at amiami.com for $40, so the price is not too bad if you take that into account.

i must admit the figure looks nice but i got some complains with it.
- the brown peg that is use to hold the sword, why cant they just make the peg black or that the peg was something that comes from the sword itself and not a separated part? it looks bad like its making me thing this is some sort of a bootleg.
- The other complain is the box, the front cover looks nice and the side as well. But when you see the back cover its terrible since is has so much unused space, its so empty. i understand that is because of the size of the box since it brings that stupid DVD Blue-Ray movie, but still they could have done something more to it.
nice figure but im gonna skip this figure and wait for the regular version release.

I'm caught in between on this one. On one hand, I'd rather wait for a regular release figure. On the other hand, all them "Dirty Harry" gun poses are driving me nuts!

Biases and costs aside, it's sure one heck of a pretty figure. But I did pre-order mine when it was announced so I'm committed whether I like it or not, and I agree that for the price it should have much more than just an extra DVD. Sure the DVD is valuable right now because it's new and nobody has it, but give it a year and it's probably just another $15 DVD that costs Bandai about a nickel to produce. I mean I'm stoked to watch the show, but I would be much more stoked if the figure came with more stuff instead of just a DVD.

Awesome pictures of a pretty badass figure! I'm happy I decided to pre-order one!!! ;D However, I still dislike this concept of a Mazinkaiser with no Koji Kabuto at the helm, pistols instead of Breast of Fire chest plates, and able to move faster than the Shin Getter... }\

To me, this is indeed a nice sculpt with a lot of detail for a figure this size. The "Dirty Harry" schtick is cool, but I'm trying to avoid it's in-my-faceness. As for the Without Koji concept, I'm open to a new fresh idea about this type of mazinger robot... ...at least it's not some new mecha with the same pilot from 30 years ago; I mean, really, Koji should be near 40 or 50yo by now. Two pilots each with his own robot combat skill inside one robot is definitely a fresh idea to me. Two pilots inside one cockpit. If it had been five pilots vesseling ship parts to combine and form a robot, it would've been the same old typical sentai story as always. And even That sh*t has me tired out. I love Koji to death; but I enjoy seeing new blood at the helm even if this is an alternate universe story. zozo-Magengar

If they were going to try a new concept/storyline, I would've prefered a new robot, totally different... starting with the name. The lack of creativity in recent years is insane! Then again, I have no idea of the origins of the SKL, so it might turn out to make some sense after all...

You know what I'm thinking... I wonder what "SKL" means. But more than That, I'd like to question Bandai as to Why were they able to whip up a Mazinkaiser SKL SRC figure so quickly in time to promote its OVA... ...yet they still have NOT made a Mazinkaiser SOC figure of the original Mazinkaiser robot since its OVA release back in the early 2000s! I don't wanna hear that the Mazinkaiser's sculpt would've been too complicated to mold. SKL's sculpt is laid Fat with lotsa detail for a figure the size of an SRC which is smaller than an SOC. And it looks damn perfect for having made it so quickly. So, Yo, Wazup wit Dat, BANDAI? ?? ;D zozo-Magengar

Maybe in the future they'll have old Koji pilot a wheelchair that attaches to Mazingers head.

which Mazinger will be in a wheelchair as well to move around and fly.
but seriously, i guess Bandai at the moment didn't have the proper documents to do a Mazinkaiser OVA or SRW version so they work witn SKL version instead.

As of right now I think that this might be my favorite Mazinger design. Though it has a Fewture sort of thing going on, I think it has a more dynamically detailed look than the Mazinger 1969 series. I'm hoping that the peg on the back will eventually allow for a scrander accessory.
