I'm willing to bet it's the plastic version. More cost effective, plus Takara tends to work from the more recent molds. Both the Jazz and Prime reissues were taken from the G2 molds. Starscream may have been too. It's possible Takara only keeps one variant in storage for each mold.

I don't know about the pic just above Predaking but the chrome on the pic just left of it is a dead giveaway for the Microman Gattaing Robot... I think its called "Biomachines". Just ask in the Microman section of this BBS and Hypno, Mutonis, etc could probably tell you more about it.
