From what I feel it's only in the claws on the arms, the front claws on the feet, lower torso, and the shoulders. It gives him a decent heft.

Nice review Charles! Good coverage. Bakuryu is actually slightly larger than I thought he would be. I'm not sure how necessary the second head is. In fact I think I like him more with the bigger head. Another thing I like about all the Tobikage figures are the simple transformations. It's nice to have figures that you can dive right into without a couple hours of work, but generally it seems SOCs do an ok job on keeping things straight forward.

Here' s my 3 part review of GX-56. thanks for the review. Wish it has more diecast. Other than this, it seems to be a solid release.

I have a hard time passing up most things on amiami because it is such a good deal on the outset, and the secondary market has turned out to be so ridiculous these days that I don't even consider the option of gettting something later on.

I received my GX-56 today, and it's okay. I'd say it's the weaker of the three Tobikage releases, frankly. It's not the lack of diecast that gets me, it's the relatively waffly transformation. Houraioh was amazingly well designed, but Bakuryu seems kind of unfinished. His Torso halves that spread out don't seem to want to hold together very well in robot form, while the leg armor pieces that slide up and down don't seem to securely lock in either position. Also, while you could keep the hands on with the previous two figures when transforming, it's simply not an option with Bakuryu.
The figure isn't bad, per say, it just doesn't seem as high quality or as nicely thought out as the previous two releases, which is doubly disappointing since it's the most expensive of the three.
All three will make a great display together, but I can say with certainty that either GX-54 or GX-55 will be my go-to when I want to handle them.
Oh, and Zerokage is pretty nice. Makes an excellently poseable counterpart to Tobikage.
EDIT: Oh, and his toes are diecast. It's not much, but it adds a little bit to his diecast content. The inner part of his legs though which would have seemed like a no-brainer to be zinc are all plastic, though, which is a bit of a disappointment.

GX-56 is the weaker one compared to 55 n 55. N the opening of the torso to transform into dragon mode, can be done a lot better. And the toes are diecast? I'll go check mine again. Cos the feet are hollow and it did not feel diecast to me.

It just doesn't feel as solid as the other two, kinda feels lighter too. And the phony Tobikage block, it is just a shell. I was hoping for a solid block in the shape of original Tobikage from GX-54. I wasn't as excited with this release. Out of the 3, the best one is still Houraioh and honestly, not knowing much about this Cartoon and background of these characters, the only one that got my attention was Houraioh.

Does anyone know which tobikage (gx-54 or gx-55) is in-scale with zerokage from the GX-56? I never watched the show (or at least have no memory of it) and am not sure how big zerokage actually is in the show relative to the other bots.
Did zerokage combine with anything in the show?

Great review OptimusprimeSG. Very detailed. BTW yes,the front toes of the Dragon are diecast, the rear toes are plastic. I never watched the show (or at least have no memory of it) and am not sure how big zerokage actually is in the show relative to the other bots. Did zerokage combine with anything in the show? It's Gx-55 Tobikage that's better in scale with the Zerokage, they're supposed to be roughly the same height. Zerokage didn't combine with anyone in the show (he was an enemy unit/defector/traitor. ) Gold

quinjester and Gold, yes the toes are diecast. Thanks for highlighting this. It would have been easier to tell if Bandai had made the toes solid instead of hollow. I dun understand why they had to make it hollow. solid toes would have given it a slightly heavier feel and we'd all feel a lot less shortchanged. Still, GX-56 is a nice piece. We just need to overlook on some of the imperfections, and blame GX-55 for being a lot better made, hence making his fellow 'brother' look not as gd.

I am getting GX54 and 55 for Christmas and 56 for my birthday in February. I am excited to get them because I am an SOC completist. But quite frankly, I don't get them. They don't combine as a whole and now I find out that one of them is a bad guy... Okay, anything to feed my obsession. I will also get the following for Christmas and birthday: GX47, 50, 52 and 53. Good times, good times...

Received mine yesterday, I agree production wise it's the weakest which is too bad since I like the look of it the best. Still it's a solid figure just not up too SOC's high standards, I have a feeling that Bandai put a set budget on the whole Tobikage set and as usual the last release being the weakest. Still it does make for an awesome display piece and I don't regret buying it.
